I have never bet on a sporting event, but am thinking about placing a bet when we are there next month. I have a couple of questions... 1) Is there betting on Nascar? my guess is there is but I just want to make sure. 2) Can you bet on College football now? and if you can how do you collect if your not in town and win? I want to put some $$$ down on my Oregon Ducks!!! 3) What is the minimum bet you can make? I appreciate any in put you can give me.

For the two books I placed on the last trip: the minimums at Mirage and Monte Carlo are $5.

I dunno if you can make any CFB bets yet, if you can, it will be "To Win National Championship" only. NASCAR, no idea, but I would suggest seeking out a bigger book for that.

If you win a bet that is resolved while you are out of town, and you don't plan be back in town before it technically expires (Caesars properties give you one year; MGM properties will give you 120 days), they will have directions on the back for mailing in winning tickets.

    1) Yes although I never have

    2) Dont bother with future bets on the Ducks. The only bet that might be available is National Championship and considering Saban is the devil and Ducks are going through head coaching changes, you'd be donating the money.

    3) Minimum bet is generally $5

You can mail tickets in to collect need be for futures bets.

I think CFB lines for the first week are out, so if you're looking to bet on that game, you should be able to find it.

If your ticket wins and you are not in town to collect, check the instructions on the back of the ticket. They all have a process to mail in your winning ticket

There are lines out for about 10 of Oregon's games. Those are available at the Golden Nugget

    1. Yes 2. Yes 3. 10 bucks?

Yes, you can bet NASCAR at quite a few Sportsbooks. I don't but I have seen it.

Yes, You can bet Oregon Football. I bet the over under on season wins on teams so I look for that. In May you could find the odds out. From Gold Coast Oregon is over 10.5 games, 10 wins exactly, or win under 9.5 games. so you have to decide if they will win 11 or 12, or will they lose 3 or more.. Bowl games and conference championships are NOT INCLUDED.

I know odds are also out for which team will win the National Championship, but I don't have that sheet.

I don't think any Sportsbook will turn down any bet other than $1 or less. I know I am wrong and they probably want $10 or less, but people can bet $2 on a horse race.

If your ticket wins you can either mail it in or go in and cash it in. If it is a small amount, just mail it in. How to do it is on the back of your betting ticket. There are time limits on the ticket as they want you to cash it within six months usually, but if you show up in under a a one year time frame you can get a manager to approve or they will just cash it anyway. I have never tried to cash a ticket from longer out than 12 months, as I have never had one.

Some of the best times I being in Vegas during college and NFL football for the betting and the watching of the tons and tons of games. Plus, you hang out with other people that are betting with you and against you and there can be some friendly banter. Although, some ******s do take it personal, then you just call security and have them kicked out.

Thanks for all the replies. We won't be there for any of the games, but watch them all from home. My son went to school and played football with a couple of kids that are on the team. So it's a lot more fun to watch the games now, but have always been a fan.

Most sports books will offer betting (Typically $5 or $10) on the following:

NASCAR - Odds for the current race and Winston Sprint Cup Champion.

College Football - Likely limited to Conference & National Championship. Some will offer lines on high profile games.

The Las Vegas Hilton has the largest selection of sports betting lines in Vegas. You can typically bet on individual drivers (Say Tony Stewart vs. Matt Kenseth) within a NASCAR race. Neither have to win the race - they just have to beat their opponent. You have a much better chance at cashing a ticket with this type of bet and it gives you something to cheer for even if your driver is not in contention for the win.

The Hilton also offers CFB lines for many games before the fall.

I bet a Nascar race in April. They also have a futures bet for the cup winner at almost every book.

The thing you'll have to watch for with betting NASCAR is that all bets are off whenever they are on the track. So if it's qualifying or practice for the weekend race, you won't be able to bet until the lines are rebuilt.
