    My Trip Report

I promised a report and tho’ it is a bit late, I hope it is enjoyed. Background info for those who did not know; I am a firefighter for the City & County of Honolulu; I tend to work a lot & surf quite a lot when I can. I have 3 grandkids that are the terrorists of the future (well the boys at 6 & 7 are) and my wife of a zillion years keeps me fairly grounded.
Vegas trips are many; but this was to be a certain one for a fire brother (Kohnster) that made and produced a coffin out of Koa Wood for our preemie grandchild that passed away last year. A true friend. And he…A Vegas Virgin.

Any how; away we go -

As is with all cases of dementia, mine starts with age. Age as in my aged broken and kaputz-a-lated body couldn’t be more ready to get of the rock to Vegas soon enough. Of course this one wasn’t with her highness all mighty of everything I own live breathe or desire. It was going to be with the good old Kohnster . My fire brother whom I owe my sanity to.

My highness the queen works for Hawaiian Air so I fly free and Kohnster at discount.

So we start off trying for the 3pm; bumped on that got red eye to land in Vegas Wednesday morning, for Kohnster; the Vegas Virgin arrival…We get the car and voila! I am hit with “oh you don’t have enough days to use that Costco discount” – Ah shit I think, here we go with first rip off. But not really instead of 95 dollars went up to 107. That was fine.

Oh but wait. There HAS to be one last thing before leaving right? Cooking dinner for resident terrorists Kaleo & Kekoa, I notice stove is off. Huh? Gas powered, but no electric to start her. Kinda like her highness; but we’ll leave that one alone. Anyways, I take apart the damn thing to find out the hot wire for the electricity has come off so repair that. Coulda burnt my home down while I was gone; so up for the trip no matter what. I mean really…W T F !!!!!

Ok back to degenerate teachings by me for Kohnster. We are at MSS. But 1st stop at Walmart for H20 and Gatorade & snack aroo’s. Kohnster eats all the time. Skinny shit. He grinds snacks all the time; and this stop was a wonder – lets get cereal, lets get milk, I need spoons. Geezus bro; we can eat for free! Texts between him and his wife were – “you do know we have Walmart here right?” or “Mark’s wandering Terminal 3 looking for a beer at 630am” ( I wasn’t I was looking how the hell to get OUT of that monstrosity ) Ok we get to MSS and get checked in. 1514 quiet enuf side view of tracks and Vegas FD Rescue HQ. Appropo.

So we HAVE to get started right? Down to gambling an instructions. Yada yada; do this, yada yada…Any way he gets it s-l-o-w-l-y playing WOF & VP. Except that he has a damn Horseshoe up his ass. Everything wins; small yes, but everything was positive. Craps too. Finally end day one up a small amount but immense fun was had. We wander Fremont Street and the immense varied crowd was entertaining – especially the Lesbian Lovers the one who said “ I HAVE TO HAVE THE RAINBOW ERNIE “ at like 500 decibels right in my ear. Ah Vegas.

Hit The “D” – Kohnster gets his 3 dollar free play and turns it into 90. Rediculous. He did this the whole 2 first days. Sigma Derby was closed for tourney due to Kentucky Derby. Damn.

Craps tables – I did fair to so-so for the trip Kohnster followed suit and did OK; MSS & TheCal staff as always great. Had a 4 point run going for about 35minutes with Kohnster next up; built a 300 buy in to about 850. 7 out Kohnster threw a point and 7 out.

Next was one of the more interesting meets of the trip. A gent w/ a Stoma was at the BJ table to our left at MSS; ANOTHER gent w/ a Stoma walks by and says (Make Stoma voice now) “when you get yours?” guy at BJ table says “2000” – “OK; mine 2004” I mean what are the odds? Anyway he buys in; and 1 shooter later it his his roll; he at straight out left of me. He asks the pit if can move to between Kohnster and I (remember Stoma Voice) Pit says “up to me” I’m like “why the hell not?” Good Karma and all that I hope. He comes over, thanks us, and goes on a monster; hardways; Yo’s I mean it was great. High 5’s all around and tipped him a quarter. It was killer.
Kohnster the next day bumped into him at the Berlin Wall and talked on Dice Setting for a half-hour; the degenerate!

I didn’t mind the crowds or homeless panhandlers at all none bothered us.

Ate Portabella Mushroom Burgers at 777 – Of course this is my addiction inflicted on Kohnster as well. This meant texting said Burgers to wife; son and others whom I have addicted. Lotsa hate in the answers…Nah. Jealousy maybe.

Met w/ the lovely Pebbles and always hilarious T…. Great times at Lobby Bar at Encore. Great people foods drinks + friendship look forward to it always. Of course hotties and conversation and ******bag watching was mega-fied by our presence alone.

Fukuburger truck Friday; met a great Vegas friend at Boars Head and talked us into going to The Dam Damn De Hoover. Great tips and info. Enjoyed it a ton. Didn’t push Kohnster off it. Shopped for her highness at Jockey Store no panties this time just tops and stuff. Some of it was as usual a trip to Ye Ode Paiute Smoke Shoppe. Always an experience. Whooo.

First Friday on East Fremont was innaressing as well Dtown locals do it up right; Loud & Fun. Bands on Fremont – fun but crowd watch was more fun. Family dancers was pretty cool; and the bending guy was wild.
Saturday to the Dam; night to the Strip – packed packed packed. All the Craps at The Bellagio were 25 mins all were full. Economy must be fine. IMHO.

    The quad-a-rama - (Saturday)

Back at 2am. Said I would only play 20 and see. Well I was there till dawn. It was a bit ridiculous. After quad drought it was quad fever.

Oh and I did shoot Automatic weapons. Ive never shot a gun – I now and forever will be thankful for our Veterans. I will forever know why there are such divided views. That’s a helluva a lot of power of god in your hands. Helluva a lot.

Anyways it was fun as hell good to see all and Kohnster is now initiated to Vegas.

Mahalo! (Thanks!) all - we had a bomb time. It was a venture of sorts for me being a Vegas Vet of sorts to initiate the Kohnster,

Some hi lights as well - We tipped HK a nickel + daily - and wrote a TY note. We actually on everyday got a reply of thanks back each and every day. I love MSS/Cal they treat all like Hi rollers IMHO.

Met with LV CabChronicles whom I have followed for years and writes a great Cab Blog on Vegas. A great intelligent guy. Check him out on twitter or his blog. You will enjoy it.

Some of the crowds on Sat (fight night) were unreal (This in retro on the females that ..... OMG ..... were soooo hot) Im married and enjoyed the exquisite views.

East Fremont on first Friday is a must do. It really is a homegrown fun spot.

If you see 2 idiots dancing and doing push ups at at a WOF machine...its us.
