Pool Rules

Has you ever brought your container of rum and juice to the pool with you? Is it allowed?

 

Most pools have signs about no outside food or drink. I've never had a problem with a Starbucks cup or bottled water, YMMV

 

It is "against the rules"? Sure Can it be done? Sure Most people justify it because of the high and in some cases "outrageous" drink prices at most pools. I think it's tacky and ranks right up there with dining with someone at a restaurant and bringing in a bag of McDonald's for yourself. Not everyone agrees with me... just my opinion.

 

Nah, the main purpose of going to a restaurant is to order their food. The main purpose of going to a pool isn't to order drinks (at least I don't think so, I rarely go in Vegas since you can't swim in them). The analogy would be sneaking in your own drink/snack to a movie or a stadium. I couldn't care less when someone does that. I'd probably have an aneurysm if I started to judge everyone else's personal decisions.

 

There are many reasons people have for bringing in their own drinks. Mine is convenience. I drink A LOT when I am laying in the sun. I get a super size drink from 7-11 sometimes put Gatorade in it, sometimes a mixed drink. It lasts an hour or more, and I usually keep a spare bottle of whatever I am drinking in my bag. One of the little tiny drinks they serve at most pools would last me 5 minutes.

 

Sure been like Oberammergau 'round here of late. lol It's the Morality Play du Jour!!

To the OP: Management wants you to pay its usurious prices for drinks poolside. If you try to roll in with a keg, they will stop you. If you are discrete you'll probably slide by. I don't know if it's a "pool code" or more like "pool guidelines." I tend not to think I can get a room at Bellagio if I only want to pay Riviera prices. I also tend to think Vegas casino companies are one step past rabid hyenas on a drunken spring break bender. Though I am not an ethicist or an ordained minister, I trust you will do what is right and proper for you and not suffer dire eternal consequences.

 

I bring in 32oz of drinks in assorted non-descript plastic bottles. If you don't flaunt it and have pool-safe containers, they don't seem to care.

Tip: Don't just carry in bottles. Have them in a purse, carryall or day bag. Even Disney lets me bring in drinks this way.
