I have no affiliation with the Goopon clone or the company providing the offer, I am simply interested in the pros and cons of yet another discount deal to Vegas. And in this case it's one without a timeshare catch.

I have a few ideas of what the cons might be, but as usual I'm interested in the opinion of those who have some degree of knowledge about offers such as this.

    The Deal

$99.00 for a two-night stay for two people at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas plus one free round-trip companion ticket with the purchase of one round-trip airfare ticket
Airfare ticket has a $24.95 refundable deposit due prior to reservation, 21 day advance booking notice required and does not include normal airline taxes and fees
Includes $500 in bonus discounts, free show tickets, activities, dining and more
$85 per person fee paid at the time of registration, this includes all hotel taxes and booking fees
No travel blackout dates; based on availability
    No Timeshare presentation
No refunds will be offered by GotStays after refund date, or if hotel room is booked during refund period
Not valid to residents of Florida
    Promotion Expires May 25, 2014

DealChicken happened across a great deal in Vegas (that he doesn't want to stay in Vegas) from Got Stays Travel. The Stratosphere Hotel features the Top of The World restaurant-an 800-foot high rotating fine-dining establishment with great views of the city-and great thrill rides, including SkyJump, Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot. If you prefer your excitement on the ground, good. You're minutes away from the Fremont Street Experience and the heart of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.

Anyone ever use the site deal chicken is selling the voucher for? Always been skeptical of those vacation deal sites beyond Groupon and LivingSocial.

Kind of sounds like the "Virtually Free" vacations that Bob Stupak used to pitch in the back section of Playboy and other mags years ago. He was a master at it.

There are many gotchas. You can be sure that 1) the $500 in free stuff is virtually worthless and 2) the "free" companion airline ticket will require the purchase of a higher-priced-than-normal first ticket.
