We are considering a stay at TI late summer. I'm not seeing any discussion about the resort. Any comments --good or bad??

Have you gambled there before, using their "players Club" card? If so call the reservation number and when they quote you a price (it'll be higher than what is offered online), tell them you are a member and they should transfer your call to their marketing department. Make sure if you do this that you have your (or anyone else that's going with you) card close at hand. They'll want those numbers to verify your play.

I did this when checking/comparing prices for our families annual trip and what they offered us was better than what was offered on their web site and they also waived any resort fees.:beer::beer:

Also, we are not high rollers by any means, i.e. we love the penny slots.

I stayed in a 'Strip View' room at TI back in December. Nice room with a nice view. People were able to check in early at 10am. I'm not sure if it was just for that day, but it was a nice change from the usual 3pm. TI is a nice place at a nice location. I'd stay there again.

I used to love TI. It was my home casino till MGM sold it. But the rooms were always nice and the location is a real plus. You will enjoy TI every much.

The pool is small and basic. Beds were very comfortable. Location a bit further north than I like.

It is right next door to fashion show mall. Hubby thinks that makes it a bad location but he is soooo wrong :evillaugh

My last four trips have been to TI. It's a good "middle of the road" choice and adjacent to some of the nicest places on the strip. Book and enjoy.

I've always like the TI... solid value property! Probably even more so now since Phil Ruffin bought it. The rooms are nice and Mystere is one of my very favorite Las Vegas shows. The geezers around here don't care for the "boat show" (Sirens of TI) outside, but I still think it's a fun 15-20 minutes or thereabouts of free entertainment. Take the tram over to The Mirage for a change of venue or head out the other side to a VERY nice mall. Of course, you're directly across the street from Wynn and all that that complex has to offer as well.

I stayed last fall at TI and have stayed a few other times over the years. I think it has become the better value play now that [STRIKE]Imperial Palace[/STRIKE] The Quad has decided to forget about their rooms. Yes, TI's rooms are showing some age but they are clean and you can get a two bathroom suite for a very reasonable price.

Actually, the Quad didn't forget about their rooms. They are doing the casino first and then upgrading the rooms.
I stayed at Treasure Island a long time ago, mid 90's. It started going downhill once they replaced the original Pirates of the Caribbean sign. And then they got rid of the Buccaneer Bay show and replaced it with the Sirens, one of the worst decisions ever made in Vegas.

There has not been, to my knowledge, ANY confirmation that the rooms are being refurbished or upgraded.

If this were, in fact, happening it would be HUGE news already in the public domain.

I stay at TI as part of my trip to Vegas everytime I go...It is a smaller casino than others and easier to get around...Rooms are nice in my book and easy to get to the elevators from the casino floor. Buffet is average..Pool is average at best but fine for me...Casual restaurants are good and not too expensive...I enjoy the place very much.

Yeah, I haven't read anything public yet either. But if it's not true, then a Quad bartender lied to me this month. He said they were planning on working on them after Linq was completed (which is possible, but I could see it going either way). And I am happy to stay in the current rooms if they stay cheap enough, so it wasn't like he had to convince me it was worth staying there.

And if they do plan to do a room reno, you know it's going to be a very cheapo Flamingo FAB workover.

Also, less money on room = more trips to Vegas in my book.

I stayed there 2 years ago with a friend. I really wanted a strip view room but didn't want to pay through the nose. We got it no problem, the room was small though. Casino floor smells like a casino floor, not unbearable so though. Rooms had no smells, smoke or otherwise. Didn't really eat there but we got really great margaritas at the uncharacteristically chill Mexican restaurant near Kahuanville, that has probably since closed.

I really liked was the location near the Walgreens and the Venetian. My friends were staying up the street at Paris, so it was easy to meet up, either at Paris or in-between. Shuttle to the Mirage did its duty but was a bit slow and remote; there seemed to be some robery potential. We were going to stay at Ceasars but after reading about it online, it seemed too difficult to navigate and precious Vegas time would be gobbled up getting in and out of the hotel.

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

I stayed there last July for a week.

    Pros:

    - location
    - strip view was INCREDIBLE

    Cons:

    - high resort fee
    - tiny pool -- disgusting pool -- we were actually evacuated from the pool so they could SHOCK it clean. was closed for about 2 hours on a hot day from like noon - 2 pm.
    - room was so-so

Like someone else said, you can do better for the same $$$$. Stay at MGM Grand if possible. Amazing pool system.

"Gary Loveman noted at G2E that after Bill's, the next project was to refurbish existing rooms and clean up existing properties."

Some of the employees have also stated that the Quad will get a refresh starting later this year. The Quad doesn't need to redo their rooms........they just need a face lift (like the carpets, new paint, new wallpaper, etc.), to get current like the Casino area. This will allow the Quad to remain at the low end of the spectrum yet still be competitive. From what i saw last week, the Quad will be a fun place to gamble and eventually stay once the rooms get a makeover.
The first priority is finishing the casino area, the ongoing Linq project, and Bills.

Gary Loveman did not specify which properties were slated for refurbishment. CET puts most of their resources in LV into CP so I could see a Roman Tower redo before the Quad rooms get touched. I believe they want to retain an ultra cheap option on the strip.

Back on topic, I do not like the casino or restaurants at TI at all but the rooms are fine, similar to Mirage, and location is very good. It is a good option if you are of the "I don't like the snobby new Vegas" mindset and you are not wedded to MGM or CET. The pool is a weakness if that is important to you.

Yep. I like TI, but I could never figure out what they have such a mediocre pool. Based on the theme of the property they should have a rocking good pool. This has been a consistent complaint about the TI. Still though, I like the TI and usually stay there in winter when it's too cold to swim anyway.:peace:

    Email Confirmation Enough? T.I.

We got an email confirmation for our dates and rooms, but we haven't paid. We were working with someone in marketing. Is this really enough for our reservation? Thanks!
