Staying at Bally's Thursday-Monday of Memorial Day weekend. CAN'T WAIT - trip number 5 to Fabulous Las Vegas

We booked a package deal through Southwest, so we have the basic South Tower room. I'd like to get at minimum a room with a view, and hopefully something better - I'm rooming with the bachelor (guest of honor) for the weekend and want to show him as good a time as I can while balling on a budget.

So, what rooms in Ballys have the best view? Can I just ask for a upper floor room w/a strip view, or is it worth a shot with the $20 trick? Will the sandwich even work on a holiday weekend?

Thanks in advance - hope to see some of you VMB-ers out & about over the holiday weekend! I'll be the one searching for $5 tables and pouring down cheap beers :drunk:

If you are balling on a budget, slip the clerk a $20 and ask for a North tower jr suite. Its not a real suite, but has a lot of extra room for two guys. I dont worry about views on guys trips, but the view is pretty decent you can see all the way north, looks cool at night. North tower also lets you elevator all the way down to the bottom level and access pool w out walking thru Casino.

I land in Vegas tomorrow and I'm going to take that advice. North Tower Jr. Suite sounds good to me.

The North jr. Suites are quite nice. Ours had a fridge, coffee maker, safe ($3 a day), two queen beds, in a very large room. Guessing around 450 -500 sq ft.

Do what captionRon said by slipping a $20, I did a fifty hoping I'd land a grand suite but got the Jr. Lost the first gamble lol.

Thanks guys, I'll give the $20 a shot! Hopefully since we check-in on Thursday they can work something out for us.

Just returned today and for the past week had fantastic strip view from room 6715 in Southern tower. Paid no extra, just asked for best view possible and check in clerk Dennis came through with this.
The view was looking directly over Paris pool and catching part of Bellagio fountains. Furniture in room a wee bit tired but clean spacious and fab value for the low rate we paid.
We did go back and tip Dennis $20 as a thank you later but appreciated that he didn't expect this.

Did you get6 a full fountain view? (From the pics online in South Tower rooms, you get about half the fountains).

Did you hear any noise from the nightclub at Paris?

The view in either direction from the South tower trumps any benefit the North tower may have. Any. You are in the room for very little time (while awake) and you spend much of that time looking out the window onto the strip. You do not spend your time looking a furniture that maybe a tad less ratty than the other tower, so why would you care all that much which room may be newer? Go get what you are going for, Las Vegas and it's beauty.

No, It was a partial view of fountains. However the view of the rest of the strip was simply amazing. The digital advertising hoarding for Aria changed every few seconds and the graphics were stunning.
Noise from night club was drowned out by the very loud aircon but just use earplugs when you settle down to sleep and all is good!

I know what I'm asking for as an upgrade...but in aces that doesn't work I want a back up option.

The North Tower Deluxe 2 Queens looks actually less modern than the South Tower Classic 2 Queens, is that the case?

My host, who usually puts me up at Paris, has been hounding me to try a suite at Bally's, so I am going back for some special event thing and she's set me up in a "Celebrity Suite" (and supposed to be renovated) but the information on these rooms is so limited, it's hard to tell in advance what the hell I'm getting, but I trust her, she won't do me wrong. Seems they are huge two room suites, but other than that, it's hard to tell. I plan to do a full report on it so future patrons aren't as lost as I am.
Must be a host only type of room, because it's not even listed on the Bally's website or any booking site, like the Charlemagne and Napoleon Suites at Paris (still have not scored one of those yet)

Sounds like the Executive suite. We stayed in 2011.

Basically 2 grand suite rooms with a connecting door. One room is still the grand suite, the other is a massive living room with bar and extra bathroom.

I believe the Celebrity Suite is even larger then the Executive Suite. They used to have info on it via the CET Groups-Meetings webpage, where additional rooms for each hotel was listed. It has since been removed, but I do remember it being larger.

Here's an older post by a member:

"My best comp was a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at Bally's and they comped us the Celebrity Suite for the 3 nights we were there. It had an attached room for my mother as well. It was very large including 5 flat screen tv's, living room area, formal dining, large wet bar with microwave, and of course the exercise room. We really enjoyed it!"

So if say you are staying five nights on a comp, is it out of the question to ask for a Grand Suite/North Tower? What if someone was willing to pay for the upgrade even? Any ideas of average cost for upgrade to G. Suite? I just want a jacuzzi!
