    Hi Everyone,

First time poster on here. I'm trying to decide if I should book the shows and things we want to see now or just wait until we get there and attempt tix4tonite. I hate the idea of going without a definite plan. The first time my wife and I went to Vegas it ate us alive and we were overwhelmed by the chaos of it all. My wife absolutely hated it. This time I want to take her back and show her a more glamorous time (nice dinners, spa treatments, shows, etc.).

Here's what we have on our short list of things to do, but I'm just not sure if we should get booking now or wait till we get there to try to find a better deal:

    - Le Reve
    - Ka
    - Zarkana
    - a spa treatment (any recommendations? We will be staying at Vdara and don't mind traveling by cab or walking)
    - a nice dinner or two (we especially love a good steak)
    - a good classic cocktail lounge (something like an ultra lounge where my wife can get dressed up but not a club--neither of us like the party scene)

    We're 26 and 30 if that helps.

I guess I'm looking for advice about what to do as much as I am for when to book. We just need help! lol

Hoping some of you can make this a better trip for us than our last one 5 years ago. We ended up just wandering around aimlessly, getting lost in casinos and losing money.

    Thanks!

I almost hesitate to suggest it because it has consumed much of my time - but then I'm home with flu and have nothing by time. :wink2:

If you are a fan of Facebook games, several of the items on your list are rewards on myvegas.

For shows I always just book what I want ahead of time, and if find out I have time to see a 2nd show (something smaller like X-Burlesque or the V-show), I might go for the Tix4Tonite routine. However, with Tix4Tonite, you usually have to wait in a 30 minute line to get the vouchers, and then you ALSO have to go to the box office of the actual show to get the actual tickets. Sort of a hassle.

If you book now you usually can pick your seats and sit exactly what you want. Of course, that's a perk of paying full price.

BTW, I HIGHLY recommend LaReve and Ka, but skip Zarkana. It's completely underwhelming.

Which do you think is going to make your wife happier:

    • You coulda saved $20 by waiting until the last minute, but too bad, all they have now are crappy seats or you can't get a reservation.

    Or

    • You book in advance and then escort her through a more glamorous time

It's usually slow during the time frame you'll be in LV. The only big convention is ASD at LVH - and that ends on Aug 8th. So, getting seats at the discount ticket agencies should not be a problem.

Having said the above, good seats really make a show and bad seats can ruin it for me. I book in advance to get the seats I want. It's more money but, for me, it's worth it.

I always book shows in advance. I have used tix for tonight on spur of the moment shows, I also had one sell out by the time I got to the front of the line. 40 mins wasted in 94 degree temps not fun, that was my last time w tix for tonight!

Here is the Summer of Cirque Offer you can get KA and Zarkana tickets here. Both around half off for the cheapest seats.

You won't find a better deal than those prices.

    For Le Reve
    http://smartervegas.com/shows/le_reve/ticketsdiscounts.aspx

I'm positive that is the best rate you can get on those 3 shows. You won't find a better deal waiting till you arrive. If it's on sale at Tix 4 Tonight, it's also on sale online, mind as well get them in advance, and not risk it.

For spas my favorites are Canyon Ranch at the Venetian and I really liked Bathhouse at THEhotel Mandalay Bay. Also I've heard good things about QUA at Caesars. I'd stick with a 5 star hotel for spas.

Steak dinner, the best in town right now seems to be Gordon Ramsey Steak at Paris (haven't been yet though!). Also if you want to have some romance I highly recommend the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris. Good food too.

If you were overwhelmed last time, yea, plan everything out, what you would like to see, where you will eat your dinners, that should make things more enjoyable. Also Vdara is a great hotel to just relax, big rooms, your wife should enjoy that.

I always get my tickets through Tix4Tonight. I have always gotten the best possible deal through them. If you don't want to wait outside in the heat, use the kiosk at circus circus or at 4Queens. I always buy the tickets while the wife browses the giftshop for souvenirs, so she's happy there too. Last show we saw was Marc Savard, I paid $16 instead of 50. The way I see it is the more I save, the more I can gamble!

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I think I'm going to book prior to our trip.

Now I just need to figure out if we should do Ka or Le Reve.

All things being equal, I am sorta leaning towards Le Reve just so we can go to Wynn rather than MGM. I'm just assuming it's more glamourous. However, I noticed that Ka is a lot cheaper on the sites you guys listed.

Any recommendations on restaurant choices at either location? If MGM I was looking at Craftsteak. If Wynn, I was looking at Sinatra. We like steak, craft cocktails, and italian.

I've heard Sinatra is a great place. Wynn definitely has a more glamorous feeling than MGM, so I'd probably lean that way.

one thing I would recommend is head over to Bellagio and hit up Hyde before 8pm and hang out and have some drinks and watch the fountains and then head down to Prime for dinner with a table by the windows. definitely won't disappoint.

Le Reve was amazing. The best show we saw while in Vegas.

Just made reservations for our last night for Prime. Thanks for the tip! Looks fantastic!

I think I'm all ready to lay out my agenda on the forum for some critiquing so I can get some feedback on if I'm on the right track or not.
