Does anyone have any successful baccarat strategies? I've won and lose with a flat betting strategy. I also use a positive progression betting when the shoe is hot but again I win and lose. Negative progression betting doesn't work for me (i.e. betting more when losing). So I'm looking for a more successful baccarat strategy that win's consistently. Any insight?
If so please put your baccarat and money management strategy
    - Bankroll per shoe
    - Average bet per hand
    - # of hands per shoe
    - stop loss per shoe
    - # of wins per shoe before quitting shoe

I don't play baccarat, but you are correct about negative progressions. They are a sure fire recipe for ruin. The only other thing I can say is stay away from the "tie" bet. I saw a guy lose serious money on betting that bet exclusively once.

bottom line is there's no such thing. like any casino game, it's a negative expectation game, so in the long run you rate to lose. the only way to win is to get lucky.

I used to use a system that a friend swore was foolproof. it failed as much as it worked, but the wins were smaller and losses bigger. so I dropped it and now I just play for fun.

All children should be required to read the book "The Demon Haunted World". By none other than Carl Sagan.

The book is not about gambling. It's about leading a life of rational thought.

Teach your children well. Then they won't grow up thinking gambling is a game that you can "win" at. Because you can't. If you believe that a set of strategies or a method of behavior will lead you to the pot of gold in V-land, then you're about as sane as Charlie Sheen.

Come to Vegas to have fun. Enjoy life and the company of friends and strangers. Partake in vices if that's your thing. But don't come thinking you can beat the casinos.

i would also love to know the secret ,if i bet banker , player wins and if i bet player its banker, so its pot luck in my book,
you just need a shoe that swings one way almost like betting either black or red with roulette

I know this is a joke, but this has actually been one of my most successful strategies at the table. when you find a guy that's running horribly and just can't win to save his life, just sit there and bet opposite of him every hand. we've all seen those guys that have just been losing and losing and losing and keep coming back for more punishment. it doesn't always work out, but if you find a guy that is really running bad, you can make some serious bank in a short time.

I would probably be that guy who keeps losing and coming back for more punishment. I do it in every other game so why not baccarat? Since you bet thousands per hand just bankroll me to play table min and do the opposite of what I do. I won't even ask for a cut. I'll just milk it for the top-shelf drinks and free chicken salad in the HL room.

I like negative progression. Just stick with player or banker for 4-5 hands. If you're ahead, leave the table and cash in your winnings. If you lose 3 hands in a row, leave and find another table. Don't stick around long enough to get hammered!

JimboS has a good point. Baccarat is great in the fact that you can have fairly low minimums ($25 usually) and high limits ($20K). The necessary bankroll is very key in using a negative progression. I used it the last time I was in Vegas and walked away with $500+ (betting the $25 minimum).

There are two tips I will give you if you decide to bring $20K to the table: 1) don't play on tilt when you start losing 4 or 5 hands in a row and 2) set a goal amount and don't get greedy.

You could use this for BJ as I saw tables in Bellagio that had similar mins/limits; however, I don't want to think while I gamble so baccarat is perfect for me.

First, there are no strategies or systems that will improve your chances over the house edge. You still expect to lose total wagers times house edge.

However, there are a couple progressions that can add some spice to the action.

I've tried this: D'Alembert. You raise your bet one unit after each loss and lower your bet one unit after each win. You might start at $60 and use $20 as the 'unit'. Don't bet less than $60. The idea is that if the table is choppy you'll always win $20 after each LW or WL sequence. A long string of losses will still hurt and probably stop you. But if you have a sequence where the bet got high and then slowly came back down to $60 you'd be sitting pretty, making a LOT of money when you had equal numbers of wins and losses.

Also: Oscar's Grind. The idea is to win one unit in a sequence and start over. Start at $50 with a $50 unit. If you win the first bet, you're done and begin again. Bet the same as your current bet after a loss. After a win raise the bet by one unit. And here's the tricky part, (you'll have to keep track of where you are in the total units won/lost for the series), your next bet should never win more than one unit for the series.

    Example:
    $50 L
    $50 L
    $50 L
    $50 W
    $100 W
$50 W (don't wager more than winning one unit.)
    Done.

    $50 L
    $50 L
    $50 W
    $100 W
    Done.

    $50 L
    $50 L
    $50 L
    $50 W
    $100 L
    $100 W
    $150 W
    Done.

Note: Neither system uses the 'double your bet' idea. Just add or subtract one unit from your previous bet based on the rules.

Both of these have the advantage of not sending your wager into the Stratosphere , and convert streaks of nearly equal wins and losses into net money won. Both will 'go bust' with long streaks of losses.

As far as betting player or banker, do whatever rows your boat. Playing 'against' or 'with' the 'streak' will be equally successful.

Check out Brian's trigger list. When I see the proper pattern, I bet big. I generally hit it 8/10 times. Google Brian's trigger list.

To add to WrongWayWade's post I like using a positive progression as well. It's just 1-3-2-6, you reset to 1 after a loss or after 4 straight wins. I don't know why I picked it. I saw it once and liked the look of it. Makes no difference of course in theory but its a good way to amplify those mini-streaks. Winning 4 hands straight is not too unusual so in this progression you'd be ahead 12 units and worst case down 2 units within the progression. Admittedly though I chicken out betting the 6 units a lot of times and the progression gets shot to shit. Oh, this is in blackjack. I don't really play baccarat.

The best strategy for Baccarat is to learn to play Video Poker.

The banker is an ever so slightly better bet, but the tie is a rip off!

It would be more interesting if the game were Chemin De Fer

    Shades of James Bond..

LOL. Bazinga! Crappy math at its very finest. And this is why there are more losers than winners. That is why folks like Steve Wynn can built such elegant/opulent properties. Speaking of Wynn, hopefully his Everett project goes through unlike what happened at Foxborough.

This is based on a $100 minimum table in Vegas. Just too bad this does not work as well in casinos in the East Coast because Vegas gives you more of an edge because of two factors: Unlimited Free Hands and there is always an empty table where you can play by yourself. No dead weights and no distractions. You get in and make your stealth surgical strikes and disappear. Rinse and repeat throughout the Strip.

    Bankroll per shoe - $1500 to $2000
Average bet per hand - $100 to $125/$150
    # of hands per shoe - 20 to 30 but less is better with the optimal of 10 to 15
stop loss per shoe - 3 straight
    # of wins per shoe before quitting - 3 to 4 units

This has always been my parameters and it has always remained the same at a $100 and above table. It is how I approach these variables that changes. If it is a $300/$500 table I can just leave it at a one/two units win. This is why my comps/theo sucks so much. My play time is very low yet my player advantage is high.

With the conditions above you leave a shoe within five to ten minutes. If you can do that then you can and will come out ahead. This is because casinos have no control over short term variance.

This guy makes no mention of commission. Thus his system falls apart.
