I just found a groupon for the Spice Market Buffet and wanted to know if anyone has eaten there lately and how you liked it. The groupon can be purchased for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and includes beverages. Any tips or suggestions? Are there items that are the "can't miss" ones? I always think I am missing something at a buffet because there are so many choices. Let me know what you think.

We had the PH buffet a couple of weeks ago. I liked it,good quality, great service. The desserts, however, were somewhat lacking. If you can work it out, and you want to save money, try eating around 2:30-2:45. The dinner price jumps quite a bit from the lunch price at 3:00.
They had both cold and steamed split crab legs which were great. they were to the left area of the buffet. The shrimp cocktails were also good. Have Fun!!! Bob

I've read that dessert basically consists of hard cupcakes...?

We very much enjoy the offerings at the PH dinner buffet (desserts are limited, though). Luckily, we use the LVA coupon, which gets us $20 off ... because PH and all the other CET properties have recently raised their prices, and the dinner buffet at PH is now about $29 pp.

Was there in January because one in our party heard cupcakes and basically drooled for the next two months.

That being said, the cupcakes were underwhelming and overcooked. Some were good, most were not, and one (peanut butter something?) was very, very hard. If you're looking for other desserts, they have crepes and cotton candy, but, basically, they just replaced a normal buffet's desserts with cupcakes. A few bases, less work, looks impressive.

The rest of the food is nothing impressive. Nothing really stood out in my mind. They do have a Mediterranean section, which is something you don't find in most places.

For the most part, we really enjoy this buffet. They sometimes have a honey-pecan crusted chicken that is one of my favorites. Hubby enjoys the hot crab legs. Usually there is a good seafood pasta with either shrimp or crab which is spicy & good. The desserts....if you like bread pudding with vanilla sauce - theirs is very good. Thought the cupcakes were dry. Since the quality & variety is good...we always have at least 1 meal there using our buffet of buffets pass.

I love lamb, and you don't find this at most buffets. They usually have shish kabobs.

Also if you don't do the groupon offer - there is usually a $5 off 4-square coupon. So if you check-in with 4-square - show the coupon to the TR desk at PH and get the coupon.

I think this buffet flies under the radar a lot but it is decent for the price. Desert at this place is very average however. I have steered away from buffets the last few trips this year but I think I did hit this place in December and it was just fine.

I ate there twice in 2012 -- once for lunch and once for breakfast. I was disappointed both times. I thought that the food was completely on par with any buffet in Vegas -- even "lesser" buffets like Flamingo's. I much prefer Cravings at Mirage, the Bellagio Buffet, even Carnival World at Rio.

I thought that the breakfast buffet was a good value. I would put it on par with the breakfast buffet at the Mirage (Cravings) maybe one tally mark below it. I liked that they had a little tray of mini smoothies. It was a nice touch in the morning.

Was there last Monday evening for the dinner buffet. The food offerings were very good. The seafood station had great fried shrimp and of course crab legs. The desserts were a lot of cupcakes and made to order fruit crepes. I had a bananas foster crepe. It was wonderful. One fun offereing was mashed potatoes with topping served in a single serve glass. (Slightly strange, but really good)

PH buffet still one of the best in Vegas. The Casino was originally the Aladdin and during it's 3 or 4 years in existence won best buffet year after year. After 9/11, mainly out of ignorance, people stopped going in there, and some employees were even beat up when getting off work for their 'middle eastern attire'. I really don't like gambling at the PH all that much (although I did hit a John Wayne penny slot for $1072 last year), the buffet is still as good as it was the Aladdin. They have every type of food you could imagine and do it well.
