My wife and I would like to go to a club, but not one with 3000 people all over you. We do want to dance some and drink some but not over the top. I have looked at Hyde and a couple of more but would really like some suggestions.

    Thanks Big Al

weekend or weekday ,and i thin hyde will work for you especialy if you buy a bottle as its basicaly tables and booths,

i havent gone yet but the palms has converted trhe old plyboy club into a billards lounge with games, that also might work so might gohst bar at the palms.

psss ,marquee has a room called the library so you can go to the big niteclub but chill and get away from the crowd when you want and go upstirs to the library.its one of my favarite place to chill

    We are 40s

We like Indigo Lounge at Ballys, Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars. There is also a little place with live music at Paris we like.

Try MIX at Mandalay Bay or Foundation Room at same place. Both are great for couples of your age. We are 39 and feel right at home. Both have top of the line views as well. Mix has a little dance floor and great music that makes for a fun vibe. Foundation room is a bit more upscale with a more exclusive feel.

What nights - that really makes a difference. I'm a big fan of sunday or monday nights at XS. You can often get decent deals on table service that work OK for a couple or 2 couples. It's a beautiful club and one of my favorite night spots in all of Vegas.

My wife and I are early 40's and we went there together in December on a sunday night.

If you want a smaller place with a live band I recommend Indigo Lounge at Ballys. I was at Mix on Friday night and it was dead all night and there was no cover all night either.

Doesn't have a dance floor but the Mandarin Bar offers some of the best views.

Mix at Mandalay Bay, small club but one of the best views in Vegas. I believe there's only a DJ there on Friday & Saturday nights.

Eyecandy at Mandalay Bay, great ultra lounge, no cover & free seating.

XS & Tryst, mega clubs that attract a good mix of young & old.

VooDoo Lounge at Rio, great view & a more mature crowd.

My wife and I just hit 50 this year.

I think these are the best suggestions so far. Each has a dance floor. Each plays a nice mix of top forty and dance music. Mix has a really small dance floor, but there are plenty of FREE places to sit and the balcony has a spectacular view. I've never seen a line there and you can grab some passes in the casino or at their entrance stand during the day. I think it's a solid choice if you're on that end of the strip. Matter-of-fact, dovetail that with a start at Mix and finish up at Eye Candy. Great people watching and not a mega club. It's this unique nightclub/lobby bar hybrid with LOTS 'o seating. I like it cause they shy away from playing electronica/trance music. More top 40 and "oldies", so to speak. (You'll get some 90's Biggie Small, etc.) Haven't been to Tryst. Every time I thought about going the line was insane and filled with clueless, younger idiots. (That being said, I'm planning on going the Fri I'm in town. I'm going to set something up to try to bypass the lines. I hear good things about the place, but have been put off by the type of people I saw trying to get in the past couple of trips.) Voo Doo is also an excellent suggestion. You can sit on the few VIP lounges outside till they rope them off, if you get there early (10 ish) This place, moreso than the others, plays a lot of top 40 stuff, past and present. You can dance anywhere. My wife and I actually got the dance floor started one nite by being drunker idiots and working the crowd. Very laid back atmosphere with a decided lack of poseurs and more of a locals vibe. XS might be too much of the mob of people you are trying to avoid. I tend to get there right when it opens. You can sit in VIP till someone reserves a table. (I've goine HOURS sitting in VIP for nothing!) Purely subjective on my part, but I think the music goes downhill after midnight, with a decided emphasis on ooontz-ooontz type music when it starts getting packed.

We went to MIX last Sunday, we're 40 and we were about the average age on the patio. Was such an awesome place to sit (for free) and look at the strip while enjoying a couple drinks. Granted it was Sunday (about 8pm or so) so there was NO ONE on the dance floor, just people chilling on the patio.

Ugh, what I'd give to be back there now.......LOL. It's now added to our growing list of must do things in Vegas. Going to have to start booking longer trips soon......

Pretty sure MIX doesn't charge before 10. You should be able to find plenty of cards around the casino offering free admission to MIX

    It's a great time

Is there a charge to get into Hyde? Also if you want to get a table and have bottle service, how much does that usually cost. I am a newbie here so all the help I can get would be appreciated.

Hyde typically does charge. Bottle service throught out the city typically starts at $500 and goes all the way up to $10K from there.

Google Jack Colton for some more info and search bottle service on these forums for trip reports and other info.

You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger ripoff than "bottle service" in Vegas.
