I am low diamond, and can use an offer to get three nights comped July 6-9 in the Octavious Tower. When I stayed in January over the Martin Luther King day weekend I had a similar offer and got bounced to the Palace Tower? Do you think I will get bounced again with the July 4th holiday?

I am thinking about just switching to a Paris Red Room Premier or a resort room at PH.

    Any thoughts or advice?

It all depends on what other bigger players are there.

I'm showing the 7th and 8th comped and i'm only Gold. Why not book the Forum/Palace Tower for that weekend and use the $20 sandwich at check in for the Octavius upgrade?

I was "bumped" a couple of years ago when my wife and I went for our 10th anniversary. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know when I checked-in, as I didn't find out until we walked through the door of the room. Needless to say, I was not happy at all. I took to twitter to communicate my displeasure and was extremely PLEASED with their response. We ended up in a 1,500 sqft suite on the second floor from the top. In the end it was awesome, but in the beginning I was a bit irked.

Interesting approach. They just told me there were vacancies in Augustus, but not for me; I was in palace, and that is nice too.

You know, thinking about this is reminding me how I felt in January. I guess I will just cancel and pick another CET property.

I understand the concept of doling out suites by play, but if you have an offer it should be respected a little more than just a preference request. I know about the fine print, but they could of handled it better....oh, and did I mention they tod me at checkout thar the charges for mini bar items were removed, but they really weren't..I don't ever remember moving them at akall

As mentioned here daily - try booking via the calendar and NOT with an offer. You usually can do better.

As to getting bumped - hard to say. All depends on bookings that day.

I've had it with Caesars. Had a host for one trip. Made Platinum that trip and missed diamond by 2000 tier credits last year. E-mailed my one trip host (who contacted me originally) and she told me to use the calendar this trip, and book fast before they sell out. Screw that. Had fun at Paris in April. Had fun in December at Flamingo. Screw Caesars. They don't need me, and I don't need them.

While I generally agree with the calendar advice, the last 6 months or so I have been getting good offers for $300 free play or dining credits. To get these I need to use an offer. And, at Caesars Palace the Calendar usually gives me Forum or Palace while some offers give me the Augustus/Octavious options.

But, at Paris I can get a red room premier via calendar but not offers. So, it is good to check both.

As for bumping some properties try to accommodate the reserved room type and others could care less. I am thinking in Vegas CP thinks we should be happy with whatever they give us. In AC bally's is like this; they give you options for the nice rooms but try and put people in the dumpy clairidge tower. I will never stay there for this reason.

This is Ceasars/Harrah's that you're talking about. Don't expect to receive much in the way of personal consideration, and don't expect your room comp to be iron clad unless they consider you to be a TOP premium player. Your loyalty and your play means squat to the Evil Empire unless you routinely open $100,000 markers (at the very least) and play accordingly.

I've heard horror stories in the past from multi-decade Ceasars loyalists who dedicated their gambling bankrolls to that place as far back as the Jay Sarno era. These customers routinely received a full RFB comp and a nice suite from their host in exchange for their green chip-level play and decades of zealous loyalty. Then Harrahs takes over and all of those people get told that their play amounts to a free hoagie at the coffee shop, or maybe 1 comped night in a standard room.

One of these victims of the Harrahs's Sledgehammer Of Disrespect had been a high-rolling fixture at Ceasars since the 60's. He got a letter from Harrah's after a winning trip to Ceasars Palace stating that he was BANNED from the casino because he WON TOO MUCH money, and his play was no longer welcome.

This is who you're dealing with over at Harrahs. Bean counters. Number crunchers. Cost-benefit analyzers. The human factor has been largely replaced by cold equations.

Thankfully I've never chased room comps, because it sounds like a self-defeating headache. Almost everyone likes to feel like they're important somehow, or to feel like they're entitled to reward X for spending Y dollars at casino Z. And when you find out you're not going to get reward X because casino Z thinks that your Y dollars are insufficient, all you're left with is incredulous anger and and a "how dare they!!" attitude. It must suck to find out that your favorite casino doesn't value you like you value it.

The antidote is simple. Just play as much or little as you feel like, wherever you like, pay for your room, stop expecting the casino to give you anything in exchange for your play (other than cocktail service), and all of the pressure to capture that elusive comp fades away. Haaaaaappy happy happy.

I love hogies......Will they give me a coupon, or do I charge it to my room then have it taken off the Bill at checkout?

Don't worry, I don't chase comps and my favorite hotel is Paris. They have very good customer service and I feel comfortable at the property. The one thing that has got me wanting to stay at CP is the pool area; it looks amazing. But, my overall experience has been better at Pars ad PH, so will most likely stay there.

OK...I have stayed in PH resort room as well as Palace Tower Deluxe. While I am a PH fan, Palace Tower was definitely nicer than PH...I have looked at photos of Palace v. Octavius rooms...they are essentially the same. Seriously???

    WHAT is this gobbledegook????

18 posts...sry, honey, not puttin much credit into your post.

We became CET loyalists when Horseshoe became our local casino that also affiliated w/ Vegas. Once we began using TR card in both places we have been comped for Sun-Thurs at all mid-tier properties in Vegas with the occasionaly bump up to CP or PH.

MLife nor Venetian have not been endearing themselves to their customers lately. No complaints here...

that's how it is everywhere these days. they used to give away the hotel to bring people into the casino and now everything is about profitability and maximizing every square inch of the property, etc. every department is separate and each have to show profit in order for the dept bosses to get their bonuses so they basically cannibalize each other in order to climb the ladder. that's what the corporate business model has done to Vegas.
