They have Trader Joes and Whole Foods in Vegas, Smiths & Von's & maybe Albertsons (I though Albertsons & Vons were the same company, but I also thought I'd seen both in Vegas....)

Pick your area on google maps and search nearby for "grocery store":peace:

I like Sprouts. They have a lot of healthy food reasonably priced. They have a great selection on produce with some great deals. Last January we bought a lot of oranges at 20 cents a pound.
They have a really good bulk section. Good for stocking up on snacks. My faves are dried fruits (papaya, pineapple, cranberry), granola, nuts.
    They also sell wine.

Yes, both Vons and Albertsons are in Vegas. Along with the others mentioned there is also:
    Safeway
    Food 4 Less
Fresh & Easy. Really liked this place and they had some great sales, but half the time they were out of the product the day the sale was announced.

If you have a rental car, Whole Foods is near the Mandalay Bay end of the strip. If I stay at Vdara or Platinum Suites that have a kitchen, I always stop by there on the way out of the airport when I arrive, it is on the way to the strip. Great food, and I am usually splurging a little in Vegas

I don't know how many Vons are in Vegas but the one I noticed was on Tropicana , close to the airport.

I guess there's a whole foods at the south end of city limits, give or take near LV Blvd (is this about right?)

there's an albertson's on Flamingo Ave on or near Maryland Parkway.

Whole Foods is in Town Square, which is south of Mandalay Bay but before you get to the outlet mall.

I will be going to LV for a long weekend on May 4th so I wont bother but most of my trips coincide with a trade show so I go for 8 or 9 days. I catch a bus east on Sahara Drive and get off I think it is Maryland Parkway. There is an Albertson's on the right and on the other side of the street is another store too, Smith's. I found Smith's with lower prices, nice fruits and veggies etc. I even signed up and got a member card for savings on store special prices. I cross the street and bus back. I believe there is an Albertson's on the south end of Maryland Parkway off of Tropicana if you are at that end of the strip. I'm sure if you googled them you could get locations and directions.

    Vons is owned by Safeway.

I like what someone else said. Hit the grocery store on your way from the airport. It's perfect if you get in off an early flight and can't check in yet.

If you have a Safeway card, you don't need to bring it along. Just use your phone number.

That Whole Foods at the South end of the Strip is a lifesaver. Pricey as is the norm with all Whole Foods but worth it as they have high end/gourmet grocery items. There's also some other interesting shopping options in that shopping center like Fry's Electronics. Lastly the flight lines for the jets coming in for landing is literally right above the Whole Foods parking lot. Quite a spectacle.

Yeah I do that here in the DC area. Their gas, due to rewards, is less than the Costco in the same shopping center and only 3 cent more normally.

Safeway is the only one that has a card with mag strip on it. Giant, Food Lion, CVS, etc all use barcodes.

    I wish Vegas had Wegmans.

We have Whole Foods and then also got Wegmans and Wegmans is so much better. Hell are there Wegmans in the west at all?

This is prob the best spot for people on the strip. The other grocery stores on east trop and flamingo are in crappy areas compared to Town Square.

...for the tourists...south on las vegas blvd (the strip) about 3-4 miles....first light after you pass Sunset...town square will be on your right

If you have a rental car, it doesn't really matter where you go. I've used the grocery stores on Flamingo & Tropicana without any issues or concerns when I've been using the bus to get there. With a rental car, we're usually combining the grocery trip with other errands or places we want to visit, so we're further afield.

The main thing is- these days, there are MANY options available for tourists, whether you're walking to the Walgreens for some beer or you want catering trays for a party in your suite:peace:

I THINK I have read somewhere on this forum that the housekeeping are not keen on people having "food" "drink" from outside the Hotel (not purchased there) and that they would report you to the front desk.

Was I dreaming or is this the case and you have to pay off your housekeeper for her to be quiet?:rolleyes2:
