Given that the dealers and pit are usually very keen for you to colour/color UP before you leave the table, an unusual thing happened to me at a table at Cosmopolitan last time.

I was asked if I minded NOT trading my chips for the next denomination up since the rack was well stocked.

I'm happy to take their money away from the table any time it happens in whatever denomination they like, but it was strange to carry off a lot of chips.

Wheelbarrow full of $1 chips for me next time please!

Perhaps they weren't tracking your play or you were playing low enough that they didn't care about your play?

Regardless, that casino is not player friendly.

I think it was just a request - if you really pushed for the color-up, they would have done it.

Maybe the dealer was just lazy.

I've admired dealers with full racks several times at The Cosmo.

Maybe, but I was playing on my card, and it wasn't red chips I had at the end of the session. Or Green. :peace:
I've only played at Cosmopolitan 3 times and found them to be fine. Have you had bad times there?

No, not lazy, she was doing a great job.

It was clear it was just a request and I could've pushed for it. My attitude in life is not to make anyone's time any harder than is has to be.

I'd just never seen it before...

Note to self: Must play more blackjack.

    ROFL!
Note to self: Must play more blackjack at Cosmopolitan! :wink2:

I've seen it happen a few times. Once the pit boss asked me if I minded coloring up on the table next to the one I was getting up from and another time the pit boss told the dealer to bring it in and color me up, then the pit boss colored my overflowing exchanged chips up at the table right next to the one I was on and put the bigger chips back in the rack.

Both of those times were at the Palms.

I had this happen several times as well... at the Fremont and at 4 Queens.
At Stardust way-back-when, the Pit told the dealer to color me & rack the chips (red) in one of those plastic chip-racks. He then took them to the next table over and got green & black for them... and returned with those chips to my table.
