We went upstairs to take some pictures of the pool tables and this time a guard did ride up with us. I also asked if we could get into the Pullman to take some pictures. It was fairly early, so he said lets do it now before security gets busy.
    Here is the result:

Second floor & the only way up there is the single elevator on the east wall opposite the cashier.

Some of these are outside the Pullman:

These are the doors that lead into the Pullman. They came from the Pullman mansion and each has to be 3-4 inches thick.

View looking from inside the restaurant, same doors.

    Awesome!

Thank you so much for posting pictures!
I'll bet photos don't do it justice.

I am always really shy to ask .... but it sounds like the security guard was really nice about showing you around. Is the pool table area roped off, can you walk all the way around it?

Can you walk up to the balcony and look into the casino?

I wish they would capitalize on the UNIQUE-ness of this. They still have OLD VEGAS....something that is sorely lacking on the strip.

Tables have a low fence around them so you can't get to the edge. Now if the guard didn't accompany you up in the elevator, maybe, but then you probably would be escorted out of the casino.

    BEAUTIFUL photos!!

    Appreciate your time & effort.

I will be staying at MSS in three months, and this makes it even more exciting.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the terrific pics. We "snuck" up to the second level before and gawked at the pool tables (without an escort), but this is the first time we've seen the inside of the Pullman. Darn shame it's not still a restaurant; it's looks way too good not to be.

Great pics, Joe. Thanks for posting

I've got to try to get up there next trip. And I agree that MSS should open the Pullman for regular dining again. Looks terrific.

All this strikes me as a huge missed opportunity.

Especially that upper area, if you could keep people from flinging themselves over the railing.

Can you imagine some craps tables up there?

And the railcar... they need to put some fakery outside the windows so it looks like you are rolling along.

A little jiggle-jiggle - what a great place to hang out for drinks and cigars that would be.

Joe, outstanding work on getting into the Pullman car that has to be something quite rare.

    Joe,

Thanks for the photos. I'm glad that I once had dinner at the Pullman and saw the railcar. I go up to see the pool tables every now and then. Sure would like the Pullman to open again. Much too nice to be sitting idle.
    Thanks again for the memories.
    Good luck. :beer::beer:

Now I'm feeling a confession is needed. I actually dragged my wife to the pool tables and the Pullman and said snap a picture of that, that etc. She is the photographer, not me. I was the director:wink2:

    Inside joke...she was a TV producer/director for 30+ years.

Thanks for the tour. I asked a couple of months ago to go up and see the pool tables. They said they would get security to escort me. I said never mind.
