Has anyone played here recently? I am starting a new relationship with a host at the Riv after He gave me a terrific offer with suite, RFB, and freeplay up front. I'm just wondering what kind of play expectations they have. What kind of a buget/gambling loss is a big deal to them? I know this place has seen better days, so I expect it to be low. But I would like to hear from someone who has actually had experience here recently so I can have a better idea.

I was there in October for 4 days if you consider that recently? I wouldn't worry about needing to put too much coin in. As you said, the Riv is pretty desperate for customers. According to my win/loss for 2012 I lost just under $1000 at the Riv last year over 3 trips (each around 4 days) and I'm definitely not a High Roller with a daily bankroll of $300/day.

I have no shortage of 5 free nights/FP offers that come in every month, along with events, tournaments, ect. Their pretty open comps are one of the main reasons I usually stay there when I'm in Vegas.

I used to get 4 nights / $40 match play / 2 show tickets with a few hundred played. Went in November and did not play really so I was cut off.

I have 5 nights at Rio typically as well / 3 nights at Hooters and until recently 3 nights at Tropicana so not really a loss but I really like Riviera.

    Update:
Riviera in it's financial statement has raised doubts again about being a viable business. The Riviera auditors raised the same concern.
    Link: http://yahoo.brand.edgar-online.com/displayfilinginfo.aspx?FilingID=9199405-819-368142&type=sect&TabIndex=2&companyid=6769&ppu=%252fdefault.aspx%253fcik%253d899647

So investing in comps at Riviera may be high risk from a continuity perspective.

    Also: special offers:

    $0.58 rooms (buy 3 get 1 $ 0.58), Sunday - Thursday: code CELEBRATE
$100 for 3 nights (all taxes & resort fees included), Sunday - Thursday: code ALLN
    Both no refunds.

It would be very sad for me to see the Riviera close down. Especially after losing Bill's / IP already.

The Riviera is depressing. The casino is dead, and the hotel towers remind me of a haunted mansion. The food is awful. I think it is inevitable that this place will get shut down.

They dont offer even a single payable BJ game($5 or $10), even tough the casino's empty, just another poorly run property.

Another thing that ticked me off was I could not find a 9/6 JoB anywhere in the place. If you can't offer the newest amenities, at least offer a good gamble.

Not if you want to play single zero roulette, which Riviera also got rid of.

Good point. I play 0 and 00 as insurance bets every spin though. I want to see Crazy Girls. I had a comp offer for it but did not get / seize the opportunity last November.
