For reasons I can't explain, I treat people better when in Vegas. I tip more, I complain less, and always make sure to thank folks that have helped me, even if it is just a normal part of their job. (Maybe what I'm really saying is that I'm kind of a prick everywhere else). Anyway, I believe that this puts me in good graces with the gambling gods, and I don't want to upset that delicate balance. And honestly, the way they have been sticking it to me on the gambling front when I'm in their "good" graces makes me never want to see what they do to someone they really hate.

That paid off for me @ Cosmo this past week. They have this game running where after you get a certain # of points, you run your card through some machine, pick some boxes, and win some prizes (everyone is guaranteed to win at least $5 in Identity play). While playing, I was in what many would call a very intoxicated state. I'm not much of a reader when in that state (or when I'm sober), so I apparently missed the message on the screen that I was such a degenerate gambler that there were multiple plays available with the one swipe. I left after I grabbed the first ticket it printed out. Apparently there were two additional games played on my swipe, which won me $150 in Identity Play. Apparently whoever showed up at this machine after me believes in Vegas karma too. They turned in those tickets to the Identity booth, and the fine folks there went ahead and added them to my account without me knowing.

I only found out about it later, and the Identity folks helped fill in some of the missing pieces.

So to whoever turned these tickets in, thank you. I hope you were blessed with an amazing Vegas winning streak!

Good Karma will always prevail! I am happy that you were followed by a good person (or people) at your slot machine and I am sure they got a good Vegas hook-up at some point in their trip!

I am a big beleiever in the whole karma thing.

I leave some credits on the machines when I leave them because I know its a neat feeling to go to play one and find some credits already there.

This strategy netted me a couple of wins too.

The first day I tried it I found a $100 bill on the floor in bellagio. (no I didnt turn it in and no one was around it).

The next time i tried it i won $960 at Olreans on a slot machine.

3rd time my mom tried it and won $340 at slots a fun.

I like to do it at the giant slots too and have found coins still on them when I walk up so someone else is doing it too.

The key seems to be good intentions. You cant just buy karma by leaving some money in a machine. you have to really want someone else to find it and be happy.

I think the Vegas Karma gods are still testing my faith because they have yet to grant me my big win. :wink2:

I believe in Karma, but it's been letting me down. I've had some serious losing trips. I still do things though. I prefer to do something for a random stranger. Pick up a drink at a bar, put down a bet for them at craps, that kind of thing. It's fun at craps, because there's always that person walking by and looking, but they don't want to play because they either don't know how or can't afford it. I like to have them throw the dice. It's actually never worked out.

I see people walk through every aisle of a casino at a good clip just looking for credits that were left in the machine. They hit the cash out button and keep walking on. I've witnessed this at both Aria and Wynn. So, you may believe you are leaving credits for someone, but it's likely that a "credit vulture" scooped in and cashed out those tickets before someone else.

Maybe that person will have bad karma? Likely they made a few bucks every hour doing this sort of thing.

I do believe in Karma and I definitely believe that you are surrounded by what you create. Thats why I always make sure to try and have a positive thought going through my brain when I'm in Vegas. Positive thoughts usually generate positive outcomes.

That being said...I have never had a "Big" win on slots. The most I ever won was about 100 dollars and that was on my last spin on a dollar machine where I was trying out the megabucks. I consider that a "Big" win because at the time 100 dollars was an awful lot of money for me so I broke even AND got some play.

One time I came home with ALOT more money than I brought with me. I had brought 500 dollars for a week in town and came home with 1500 bucks in my pocket...but that was from playing blackjack at the Stardust when it was open. That place had a great game. I miss it.

Also, I have taken over a hundred trips to las vegas in the last 12 years. I know that sounds like a lot to some but when you're a flight attendant it's more common to spend a night or two in vegas just because you have some nights off and the flight is free.

Through the years and all the money I've spent going to vegas on hotels... after you factor in gambling wins, coupon values, and such I like to think I'm breakeven for my entire career and quite frankly that is a WIN in my book and it all goes back to Karma and The Southwest Way/Golden Rule. "Do Unto Others as you would have them do unto you"!!!

""Do Unto Others as you would have them do unto you"!!!" Exactly.

I found a valuable item and turned it in. I didn't win that trip. Maybe I would have lost more if I hadn't turned it in. Doesn't matter. It was the right thing to do.
