We are spending 1 night at 4 queens before moving to the strip for 3 nights. We will be checking into the 4 queens for 1 night, on a Saturday.... 2 days after my Birthday. Do they tend to upgrade rooms when someone is there celebrating a special occasion? Also, while I'm not that worried since we are only there 1 night, is there any certain type of room I should ask for at check in?

It's our first time ever staying downtown, I am excited!

South Tower and away from the noise of Fremont Experience is a good bet.
If you do have to take the North, you can still ask to be away from the noise. On the other hand if you are up most of the night, it won't matter.

If you are gambling enough and have an American Casino Guide don't forget the point doubling coupon. 500 points doubled is worth $12.50 in cashback. It is one of the better coupons in the book.

Also, the 10/7 DB on the back wall to the right facing Magnolia's restaurant has a royal progressive. This makes it the best 10/7 DB in the world.

    Enjoy.

Yes, but check before you go. When I was last here, it was not open 7 days a week, and one of the days it was open, it closed to accomodate a private party.

Since you're only staying one night and it's a special occassion, I bet you can get the free upgrade. You can try the $20 trick, but honestly? I've found a smile and good attitude goes a long way.

I'm excited for your first visit downtown. Enjoy!

    Birthday

If you are 55 and get a player's card, you get a 2 for 1 meal at Magnolia's in your birthday month. Also be sure to have an evening meal at Hugo's in 4 Queens. It is an elegant place to celebrate your birthday. The card gives you a 20% discount at Hugo's. Have fun... I think you will love downtown... it is so much more convenient to everything. Have Fun!!!

I've been getting a free meal at Magnolia's on my birthday for 7 years, and I just turned 50. I don't believe age has anything to do with it.

I think the only upgrade at FQ is to a suite.

Just ask for a room in the south tower if you can't get the suite.
