Circus Circus used to offer a pitch game, or at least a game where you were allowed to hold your cards...it was neat.

    Anywhere else offer this?

you can typically find a $5 pitch game at Orleans, too. maybe not on friday or saturday night, but i don't know, as i'm never there on a friday or saturday night. any other time i've been there i've found $5 pitch games.

downtown i know the california offers it. i would assume the other downtown boyd properties do, too, but i can't verify that. somebody else will know.

    Hey Now!

Terribles always has a $5 double decker going. Ellis Island has one too. The ones at Orleans are $10 during busy times...

The Fremont had a $10 pitch double-deck game when I was there in January.

Downtown, as of early March... two-deck pitch games can be found at Fremont, MSS, Cal, Nugget & 4 Queens.
I know the Boyd casinos have $5 tables during weekdays...seems like they go up to $10 after dark.
4 Queens is, if I recall correctly, a $25 table. Nugget's is too, I think.
Note: Golden Gate has a $50 two-deck game... and, I think it's the only one that permits DAS.
No other DAS at any of the pitch games downtown. Plaza, LVC & El-Co all have a 2-deck shoe game that allows DAS. Plaza & LVC are $10...El-Co is $3.

Aren't most pitch games 6/5 vs. 3/2, at least at the lower limits. If so they are most definitely not worth it.:peace:

The one I played at Harrahs was 3/2 but you couldn't double after split. Obviously not ideal, but I played it for a while just because it was a lower limit and I enjoy pitch.

Harrah's had a $5-$10 double deck pitch game that actually paid 3:2? I don't believe it.

It was either $10 or $15, but it was definitely 3:2. This was on a Tuesday morning, so that may have made a difference. It was fun to play a pitch game, but after a while the No DAS rule killed it for me.

I don't know what the math is but I think no DAS would be just as bad as 6/5. DAS is where we, as BJ players, can make some serious hay.

No double after split increases the house advantage by 0.14 percent whereas 6:5 blackjack gives the house a whopping 1.40 percent.

In other words 6:5 blackjack is 10x worse than No Double After Split.

Edit: You might want to play with the rules on this page http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/calculator/ and check out what the results are.

Yeah no DAS isn't nearly as bad as 6:5. But CET always has a catch on all their BJ games. They love screwing people who play BJ.

That being said all the MGM/Mirage properties on the strip offer 3:2, DAS and just about any other liberal rule you can think of on all their double deck. So just walk on over if you have the unfortunate situation of being at a CET and actually want a fair BJ game.

In my experience, I haven't seen a true face-down pitch game with equivalent rules to shoe games (3:2, DAS, double on any 2 cards) in any strip property, whether it be CET or MGM/Mirage. Now it's possible they exist in the High-Limit rooms, but I don't spend much time in those.

They have it at MGM. I played it a lot a couple months ago. It's on the main floor but not what the OP is looking for. Min was always $100, maybe drops to $50 sometimes. Very good rules though, same as the high limit face up DD games at their sister properties.

But it's going to have a high table min, right?

Yes....as KickinChicken mentioned, probably in the $50-$100 range. The bottom line is that you can find face-down pitch games at relatively low table minimums, but you'll pay for it in the form of player-unfriendly rules.

The last time I was at LVH, Mirage and Strat, they all had 3:2, DAS, two-deck pitch games. Strat was $10...the other two were $25.
...and, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the $50 two-deck game at Golden Gate is also a 3:2, DAS pitch game.
Plaza, LVC & El-Co all have a two-deck shoe game ($10, $10, $3), 3:2 with DAS. Personally, I like this a little better than the pitch game, as all of the dealt cards are immediately exposed (except the dealer hole card, of course). For some of us, that's a good thing.

    (edit-to-add): Circus still has a $5, two-deck, 3:2, DAS pitch game as well...or so I've read.
