Maybe I am getting old and crotchety, but I realy am getting annoyed at the volume of the music in some of the casinos.

I played all over the strip and downtown this week. At the Gold Coast the music was so loud the stick could not hear me to book the bet correctly and I was standing two people away from her. I had to repeat it about 4 times before she got it right.

ANother time at the Flamingo, a new player was asking the dealer questions and the player could not hear the answers. I had to answer for the dealer - kind of a whisper down the lane type thing.

I like the party atmosphere, but at some places it got realy annoying.

Maybe it's just the sh**ty music. Kelly Clarkson literally makes me nauseous.

When you can't hear the dealer and the dealer can't hear you the music is too loud.

I guess it's o.k. in the niteclubs but not so on the casino floor.

The D downtown comes to mind as far as music being too loud. One of the reasons I don't play there. Can't even hear myself think..lol!

But I'm an older person and the youngsters might not agree with me...:Þ

Well, if loud music is how casinos keep old people away and give off a young, hip vibe, it appears to be working. Just kidding, of course.

I like loud music if it's good. Casinos are aiming for too bright and too loud, right?

I really like the background music but do agree it should be heard secondary and not primary.
You should still be able to hear the dealers and machines above the music.

I couldn't stay at PHo last trip because the music was so loud in the casino. I went across the street to Cosmo and they were cranking out Kelly Clarkson and other pop stuff. I was just about to leave when they hit me with some Sir Mix-A-Lot and AC/DC so I decided to stay. :haha:

100% agree! That was my big criticism of The D as well. I tried to play craps there but it was nearly impossible to communicate with the dealer. I'm only 31 and used to play in a touring rock band and I still think it's too loud.

I like music but it should at least be low enough that people don't have to speak over it.

This is one of my big complaints lately as well. If I have my machine turned up all the way and I still can't hear it over the music, it's too damn loud!

When CZR sends me a survey they usually leave room at the end to write in any comments and I always complain about the volume of the music in their casinos.

    I see it's done a lot of good :rolleyes2:

Yep. Couple of times when I was there the crap tables were empty or maybe one or two players. Wonder if the music has something to do with that?

I admired the dealers and the players, though. Somehow they were communicating and concentrating while the music blared!

I haven't been to the D at night so wouldn't know about that. PH and TI I have left due to too loud. I agree it should compliment not overpower.

I played at the Golden Gate a few weeks ago and it gave me a headache. Also making it bad was that there was a live band on Fremont. It was so loud I didn't want to gamble, and it was really a sensory overload experience. I'm relatively young, so I mean....I can handle some rockin' but this was over the top!

I shouldn't give away my secret, but when things just get too loud, I'll go up to a ballroom or a meeting space where things are a lot calmer (as long as a session isn't about to let out) and decompress for a while before I go back to the gaming floor. I haven't found that I can do that as easily downtown as on the strip, so maybe that's why I'm not as much of a fan? Hmmm never really thought about that until now!

I don't like the loud music at all, but I "deal with it" because I'm in Vegas :licklips: I'm 33, so I'm still young enough that I should want to listen to loud music, right??????? What is wrong with me?

I'm 31 and I can't stand it. Loud enough to hear and enjoy? Cool. Loud enough that I cannot communicate with dealers, people sitting right next to me, or the cocktail waitress? No thanks.
