Strip Pool Question?

Returning for a trip on the strip looking for a good pool experience... mid week or weekend in May. Cabana info and general fun pool.. Any info is apreciated

 

There are several threads on the pools at various Strip properties. Just scroll through the recent topics in this section of the board. For starters: Do you want a day club, an adult pool, lazy river, wave pool, or just a cabana? How many people? Age group?

 

And where will you be staying? Budget? Low end, middle of the road, at any cost, laid back or party place?

Your question can result in about 20 different answers - many which will not fit your real need.

 

For the best overall experience for adults I would say Mandalay Bay if you are dead set on the strip. If you are willing to venture out a little I would have to say Rehab at the Hard Rock.

 

Thx.. I will narrow it down.. just two of us.. she is mid 30's I am early 40's I want classy adult pool but fun. Prefer 30 somethings that is fun!!! Rehab is to cheesy for us.. Thx

Or Caesars Garden of the Gods. It's big enough to get away from kids, and they have the Venus Pool if you really want to get away.

For my annual trip, Cabana rental and pool experience is part of the process of choosing a property. Here are my thoughts on the properties that I liked the most:


1) Mandalay Bay - Best Pool on the Strip w/ the most Cabana choices. I was there 2 years ago, and got the run of the mill Cabana. It was fine. The cost was $350 for a weekday. There are a lot of Cabana options and the cost goes up from there. The pool attracts kids w/ the Wave pool & lazy river, but it also attracts a lot of good looking people.

2) The Mirage - Great Pool and extremely crowded. If you don't get a cabana, you will have to arrive early to get chairs together in a good location. The only issue I had was that you have to prepay for the Cabana when you book. They made sure to tell me that it was also non-refundable. Weekdays were $400 a day. It was tough to swallow when I put $1200 on my CC. With that being said, the pool is great and you'll have a blast in the Cabana.

3) Paris - Small Pool and the water is very cool. However the Pool area is nice and the cabanas were very good. They actually have 2 options. 1) they have a regular cabanas w/ TV, Table, fridge and chairs. 2) Pool villa - these are on the far side of the pool w/ private entrance and area w/ chairs. Inside the Villa is a couch, table, tv and fridge. It is also Air Conditioned. The Villa is usually a $100 more. We stayed at Paris 3 years ago, and absolutely loved the experience. While staying at the NYNY last year, My wife rented a Cabana there a couple days of the trip. The cost was around $275 and it included Bottle Service ( a fifth of Absolut). Obviously that was a plus. I recommend the Paris pool highly.

 

You might also want to check Palazzo - Azure. It does have a more quiet atmosphere.

 

Wynn..must be staying to use their pools..European pool in the way back rocks. No kids and a DJ on the weekends..

 

Does anyone know which pools are open to non-guests of the hotel?

 

Rio and Cosmo come to mind. I believe hard rock still is as well.

 

my favorite is MB (West Lagoon cabanas), but it is expensive ($575/day on weekend in early May) and might be a bit big for just 2 people.

The MGM Grand Cabanas and pool area are pretty nice, and the price of the Cabana is actually just a food and drink minimum. Last July, we paid $400 weekday - which means we got the cabana for free and spent $400 on food and drinks over the course of the day.

I Agree but i prefer Encores european pool which i think i slightly better even though very similar. Its always 21 and over and i love everything from the nice comfy chairs to just floating around in the pool watching some games on the TV. The bar and the outside casino area is great as well. Also i like that they have a slightly warmer temperature in there pools then some other vegas casinos which can be really cold.

As a guy don't you just feel like a creeper going to a European pool? I would hope that the water is cold...for my sake!

 

Thx, for the suggestions I Stayed at Wynn and really like the adult pool last a couple years ago and it was fun, Chris Pronger of the Flyers and Ducks was there, it is just expensive to stay there. I am going to make reservations this week so I will let you know. Thx

 

Time to trim that bush !
We did the Rio and Flamingo pool mid-April...was not that impressed w/Rio pool (no longer European). The best tip I got from pool research was to wait (If you can) for Cabanas/daybeds. I just squatted on daybed at Rio and payed $100 (normally $240) at Flamingo.
