Things to do at 5 or 6am on Strip (besides gambling)

Mom and I will be flying into Vegas the night of July 10th. Coming from the East Coast, we will be up and ready to go by about 5-6am the next morning. I will not be 21 until the 12th, so we can't stop in a casino. As most shops aren't open yet, and the MGM pool isn't open yet, what would a few good ideas be to spend our first hours in Vegas? Wanted to walk up the strip and see all the people just going back to their hotels and such, but is there something else that is available at that hour of the day?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 

I'm an early riser too - so I understand. How about the Bellagio Conservatory - there is no better time to wander through it to have it to yourself. How about the animal habitat at the Flamingo.

Take advantage of coffee shop midnight or overnight specials that might still be on.

 

Stroll up the strip to Paris and have a 7 am breakfast at Mon ami gabi, and sit outside. It should be nice weather at that time of the morning to sit out.

 

Head over to Ellis Island for breakfast. Not only will you get a great breakfast at a great price, you will see some interesting people as well.

 

Will you have a rental car? I might go someplace to watch the sunrise (Red Rock, Spring Mtn preserve? Not sure when they open) and then have a nice breakfast somewhere (would depend on where I go - we really enjoyed the breakfast we had a Jamms, that's on the west-ish side.)

Without transportation, I agree I'd walk the Strip before it gets clogged up, then choose a fun breakfast place and have a leisurely meal.

Vegas is great for people watching, but not so much at 6am. I agree, go check out the conservatory at Bellagio. Its free, open, not crowded at that hour, and very pretty. You can also just walk around and the hotels (Venetian and Wynn can be enjoyable to walk thru and look at stuff).

 

Oh, I totally disagree. Some of the most interesting scenes I have seen are the all night revelers trying to find their rooms. There is something quite incongruous about a gal in a little black party dress in the early morning daylight carrying her high heels.

 

6 am in july the weather will be really nice, the crowds will be less, so it will be easier to walk, and also to stop and gawk! will help you get an idea of the walking distances that are so much longer than they look. by the time the shops open, you will be ready to buy another pair of shoes.

Big Tip is definitely on the money here, 6am in Vegas is definitely fun for people watching!

I've done the 'walk of shame' myself a few times over the years, and it's always fun trying to spot people in the previous evenings clothing sneaking back to base :evillaugh

 

I'm with the conservatory and breakfast at mom ami gabi on the patio...that will be great people watching. Other than I think just walking the strip is about all you can do

 

Most Spas open around 6AM. I'd say hit the Spa & Relax.
Afterwards go have breakfast then go window shopping.

 

That time of morning is perfect for a strip walk. We use to go for long walks that time of morning every trip. Half the people will be doing the walk of shame and half will be early risers just like you. That time of morning you won't have to wait for a table in the most popular places like you would at 8/9 am. Have a great trip!

 

I didn't know that?!?!? If Qua Spa at Caesars is open go there with your mom hang out for a bit maybe get massages great way to hit the pools in full relax mode after

 

Agreed, but most of that happens around 3 and 4AM. Not that I'm speaking from experience .....

 

The spa & fitness rooms might be open, but I don't think most places start treatments until 8 or so

 

Finding a good view for the sunrise is nice. I love getting back to the room around that time, and enjoying it before I pull the shades.

 

Point made...but could easily hang out there and relax for a couple hours then grab a massage then in the pool
