After reading many reviews about the Flamingo, Im hearing that shuttles to and from the airport are not able to drop or pick up from the main entrance. Some are saying they were dropped off several blocks away in a back ally.

I called the shuttle service I'm using and they told me it was true and they can only do what the hotel tells them. Since this is due to the construction on going at Bill's,Im sure it's not going to be over by the time I get there in June.
I was wondering if anyone has used shuttle service to Flamingo recently and how far away they drop you. I can handle the walk, but my mother is coming a few days later and the walk is not something she will enjoy.

You can pick up the Bally's shuttle at the North entrance on Flamingo Blvd (near the box office).

I'm trying to figure out where we will be getting dropped off once we leave the airport...destination Flamingo. Are you saying they will drop me off at Ballys?
From what other people have been saying...they are getting dropped off in some back ally a few blocks from the Flamingo. Saying they have to walk (sometimes) late at night in a dark ally and the pick up spot is around the same spot. So on my return to the airport....will we be standing in an ally waiting for the shuttle to return to get us back to the airport?
Again...has anyone used a shuttle to get to the Flamingo and where the heck did you get dropped off?

Should I skip the shuttle and just take a cab?

I think you have to add "RECENTLY" to that. In the past the shuttles dropped off where the taxis went in and out as well, which is right under the check in area... but its possible that the Linq construction is interfering with that.

I'd probably just call The Flamingo up and ask them: you get a definite and up to date answer from somebody who should know... asking here you might get the right answer, you might get what was the right answer a year ago or you might just get idle speculation.

In early February I was on a shuttle that dropped people off at the Flamingo, and yeah it was somewhere out the back. It was dark so I can't tell you exactly where, but IIRC the doors to the back of the casino were visible.

I agree Auggie. I will call the Flamingo and ask. I was just wondering if anyone had been there recently and what they thought about it, If they had used a shuttle service.

I was just there recently and saw why this is happening. The Bill's remodel has the Las Vegas Blvd driveway blocked off while they strip down the concrete and foam walls of Bill's on the North Side. I stood there for awhile and watched, as it was something different to see on the strip!

To me it looks as if they would be done with this section by the middle or end of May. I think a cab should fit through the back way. Spend the extra $6 and take a cab.

Shuttle - least expensive, but you will be with many other people for many other hotels. Could be a long ride. Maybe, maybe not.

Cab - line at airport might be long, but it is orderly. $15 bucks or so. Tell driver NOT to take tunnel. He will know.

Limo - easy, great, but $65 plus $20 tip

    Cab would be my choice.

Limo is a good choice if going downtown or getting them to drive you around a bit. Otherwise for a strip property the limo is expensive for a short ride.

I would hardly call it an alley or blocks.

It is on the backside of the Flamingo property next to the Flamingo Timeshire property. It is probably a 3 or 4 minute walk up to the front of the property where you can check in.

    Look at this map

See on the right hand side of the property where the blue square monorail sign is at? That is where they drop you off, you walk up that road (maybe the first 40 feet could be considered an alley then you are fully on to the Flamingo property. There is always tons of foot traffic back there.

Thanks for the details.Like I said I got the information from different reviews and what not. It's like how some say I caught a fish that was this (............................) big when it was only this (........) big! Good to know the truth, thats why I come here :nworthy:

Executive shuttle should drop you off around back; ones like Showtime and Bell Trans require you to do some walking. Got that info straight from the concierge when I was there last week, as I asked the question based on the fact I took Bell Trans from airport and got dropped off a couple hundred yards from the entrance.
