Has anyone ever failed to meet a play requirement with MGM?

...and ended up paying for a "comped" room? I fear the possibility, as what they expect me to play is unclear. And I would not want to have to end up paying for a "comped" room.

I don't quite understand why MGM does not make it clear. The same way I don't understand why they put play/comp levels for for players like Natedogg but cut them off when he abides by their rules.

that's just legalese to keep the lawyers happy. nobody has ever paid for a room comped upfront through an offer at MGM. that only happened a few years back with V/P.

I've never heard of it either. I've stiffed the Aria when they gave me 3 nights $150 fp and I played there for about 15 minutes. All it resulted in was my offers going down.

After being a VegasMessageBoard degenerate for at least two years, I have only heard of 1-2 RARE situations. NYNY comes to mind.

    Really not an issue.

I wouldn't worry about it. Last summer I booked a comp at MGM for two nights for myself and a co-worker who didn't gamble. I ended up seriously short playing them after my buddy got a taste of the pleasure pit at Planet Hollywood. Didn't seem to affect my offers.

    MGM

Stayed in Vegas for 3 days "free" at MGM some three years ago. Did not play much for he three days I was there. After I got home I found out at my home MGM property that I had not played enough for them. They took my local comps and it took three more days of gambling locally to even get my comps running again. When I found all this out I told them to KMA. I am now a loyal CET player where I know that my free rooms are "free".

so long as it is truly an upfront comp, you will not have to pay no matter what (unless there was some pretty darn clear "fine print" on your offer ). On the other hand, all your offers may dry up after doing that.

I've done it a few times as well at Mirage and Aria... sometimes I like to go and just bet and watch sports all day.

The comps start to dry up when you do that though.

This is the main reason I have no interest in a host. I get most everything I want comped anyways but there's never any pressure to make numbers.

I remember once a long time ago at the Mirage we were told one day that we could get 2 free buffets but we chose not to have them that night and waited until the next morning. The next morning we went to the players club (this was before mlife) desk and asked about the buffets and were told we didn't have them anymore....that they took points out of our account to cover our "comped" room over night... It was the weirdest thing I'd ever heard and I've never heard it since.

I've heard of it but these were trips booked by a host and had upgraded rooms, RFB, limo pickups, etc. You don't hear about it on marketing offers as much anymore, especially when some companies are pretty firm on treating marketing as paid for.

All I ever heard of was Palazzo cancelling reserved comps with no notice, not of them charging back end on a comped room.

My only personal bad experiences, despite NUMEROUS zero and low plays at MGM's is a NYNY cancellation without notice---same deal as Palazzo, and a NYNY welch on the food and beverage on an RFB trip.

haven't stayed at either since. As long as you aren't at NYNY or Palazzo you should feel safe, however I expect at some point a bunch of these MGM's and CET's will start pulling similar crap.

The only time I'd be worried about this happening is if a host booked your stay and you totally low-played/no played them. That is why I always keep email's of what my host offers me. If they wanna go back on what was suppose to be comped up front, thats what a chargeback is for.

On a corporate offer I wouldn't worry at all.
