    My Trip Report

I'm a week away from hitting the road. One of my stops is to see my friends in Vegas for a few days.

I'll be there Wed-Monday 4/24-30. I like a bit of anonymity, so forgive me if I'm sometimes vague about the details. I have cashed in some MyVegas points for all 4 weeknight hotels and I got a great rate from MGMResorts for the weekend nights, based on last October's play. (you're welcome, Bellagio! I want to win some of that money back this trip!)

I need to be sure to put some play on my TR card as well as run some money through at Cosmo and TI to keep those accounts active too. But usually most of my gaming is at my home casino. We'll see as I haven't had much luck there in the past.

My plan is pretty loose. Nighttime is for buffoonery, daytime is for sleeping. I usually wander around by myself in the afternoon, but I don't really have anything I want to see or do this trip.

We've got a meet up scheduled for Friday night at Breeze Bar in TI at 5pm. If you'll be in town, stop by and say hello! We'll be the loud people there. I may or may not be wearing a tiara. :haha:

I think we have one downtown night for the serious crazy and some poker.

I do plan on having at least two nice meals by myself. One will be at Japonais, the other is open for suggestions. I don't want to spend an outrageous amount, but I don't mind spending more for something special.

I thought about bringing the good camera and taking a day for pictures, but now I'm thinking I don't want to carry it around or worry about it getting stolen.

Should I attempt a live trip report again? It didn't go so well last time. :drunk:

Sounds like a good trip, each time I say I am going to take a good camera and I too never feel like lugging it around. Hate looking like a "tourist".

    GO LIVE!!!

I'm hoping the photo restrictions in place last trip are lifted for this one.

I forgot to add something... There has been a certain something happening around me lately. People I know keep going to Vegas and coming home pregnant. I'm starting to get a little worried about it. I mean I am a woman of a certain age and my husband is staying home, so I'm hoping that lowers my odds. I told Dan that I'll put condoms on the toilet seats and avoid the hot tubs just to be safe. :wink2:

I was just having a discussion with myself on the camera question. Decided to leave the nice one, and just put the new iPhone justify it's existence...;)

i'll keep an eye on the get-together forum in case you plan anything downtown on sun or mon...Sunday would be best.

My Droid takes pretty good pictures, but you can't come close to the quality of the new Nikon for the night shots of the lights.

I don't think there's going to be an official VMB downtown meet. I think BeeeJay and those guys are having one, but it's the previous weekend. But keep your eyes open downtown. It's hard to miss us when we travel as a pack.

I paid extra to upgrade my phone which takes very good (not great) pictures and HD video. This was done to avoid bringing my camera.

    Sonia -

Hoping to catch up for at least a hello on Wednesday night after you get in. I am heading home Thursday and have Angy's number so I will do my best to zero in on your team at some point that evening !

We'll be at Golden Gate by 9pm on Tuesday, April 23rd, and extremely likely to be down there again, either Sat 27th or Sun 28th.

See you at the Breeze bar on Fri, liver-willing!

I get in that day, staying at MSS. If the VP is kicking my ass, maybe I'll stop by

Have fun Sonya! Hope you have a nice time. As to the live thing, play it by ear, if you rather spend time in vegas away from the computer that is cool, you can always write a TR (hopefully, lol) after you get back. As for me, I rather enjoy vegas and while I read emails and maybe post if I see anything important (last time was the problem with costco and budget), most of the time I put away the computer and head for the strip clubs.......err, I just enjoy going around vegas instead. :evillaugh

No strip clubs for me this trip. And there is never a time I'm away from the computer. Someone's got to keep an eye on you all here. :)

    We will see what happens.

The problem I'm thinking about most today is that my daytime pal, Coaster Kikky isn't going to be there this trip. We usually meet up around 10-11am at a bar somewhere and have a little hair of the dog, play VP and harass the bartenders until the rest of the group gets moving again. Who is going to entertain me from 11am - 5pm? I can't harass Lance @ Bellagio by myself.

Actually, truth be told, she starts texting me around 10am to say "Why aren't you drinking and gambling yet?" Or "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning." This gets me out of bed, showered & dressed and ready for the day. Am I going to end up sleeping the days away without her to motivate me? Nah!

Okay! Nails are pretty and sparkly! Laundry is started and Dan's dragging the luggage up from the basement later tonight. I'm all ready to go, except for the packing.

Day one is over! I'm about to take the dog out one more time for a quick walk and then I'm hitting this bed hard.

500 miles of driving. Weather was beautiful, mountains were all out. Tomorrow morning we'll do a little sightseeing and then we're off to Nevada!

That drive is sooooo long from Western Washington and costs so much in gas! I guess if you have an animal to contend with it changes things a bit but last time I looked into driving it was going to cost more to drive one way than a roundtrip flight cost.
