I've always wanted to go see the UFC. I just got an offer to go to UFC 160 to see Velasquez-Bigfoot -- first time I've ever got an offer like that. And it's on the same day my son graduates from highschool
I can't get them unless I show up, unfortunately. They only give them to me so I'll gamble at their property.
Well...congrats, congrats (to your boy) and sorry! I got the offer too. I don't know the first thing about UFC but I'm a little curious. Is this going to be a good fight? Or rather, is it supposed to be a good fight?
i'd say it's got the makings of a B+ card. not terrible by any means, but not great. although the ones that look great beforehand sometimes lay an egg. i wouldn't make a special trip to Vegas for it, but i'll definitely be watching it on PPV though.
Any good places in Vegas to watch the fight? Cost? Drink prices? I have CET credits so those might be prefered.
Hooters has always played the fights in the past at no cost. Also, they always have $1.50 beers. Shifter's right about the card. The main event is a rematch of a fight where Cain Velasquez literally almost killed Silva. It was one of the most brutal beatdowns I've ever seen in UFC...more blood than I've ever seen in a fight for sure. Unless Silva has some new counter to Cain's wrestling, I see it going the same way. But the rest of the card looks pretty good up front. For those of you who also got the offer...do you ususally get UFC offers? Because I've never got one before, and since I haven't been to vegas since Labor day, obviously my play hasn't changed.
That's cool... I'd be sure to contact your host and let him/her know your situation and that you sure hope they'll keep you on the list for future UFC events.
Thanks -- that's exactly what I thought. But I'm off to Afghanistan for a year in July, so I won't be able to take advantage for a long time.
Oh wow... well I'd let them know that too... I'm assuming that's a military commitment and I'm sure they'll value and respect that every bit as much as we all do here on the board. THANK YOU for your service!!!! Be safe!!!
Thanks. Vegas does tend to value that in general. Lots of discounts around town for military. I've done three tours so far, and when I get back I'm always able to get my normal comp level back with just a call, and usually they toss something extra in for that first trip.
