    My Trip Report

    Me!

It's 6:45 and I am sitting at PF Changs for dinner. It's a two day solo trip.
I arrived at 10am, flying out of Florida, so it's been a long day.
Host hooked me up, got me a limo pick up at airport, nice ride, nice guy, tipped him a twenty.
Go to Diamond check at Paris and at first she says my room isn't ready then says it is, checks me in and I realize, I'm up in a Calais Suite. I thought I was just getting a red premier, and not only is it a Calais, it's a renovated one. Much nicer. But here the kicker, get to door of room and it has a do not disturb sign on it...wha??? So I slowly open door, and say "hello, anyone here?"
Room is empty, but unmade....wha??? So I debate with myself, "do I call down or just go back to Diamond check in?" So I went back to Diamond check in, she was very nice and apologized, and even checked computer again and it said done. She says she'll get someone right on it. So she offers to just keep my bag at desk and come back in an hour.
In the meantime, I go get my $850 in FP and take to machines and carefully play it out to make sure the FP is used and only "my money" is left in credit and cash out. Basically, if you can stay even for a bit, that's enough to use the FP and only have your money. Bottom line, after an hour of this foolery, I wound up with $700 cash out of $850 FP....not bad
Go back and room is ready. It's a sweet room, great view of tower, fountains, all from 30th floor
Play has been good, except Caesars kicked my ass, while the woman next to me scores a $27,000 hit on the first spin! She was playing $10 3-credit triple something. Hits a white 7, which 3 alone is 300 credits, with two triples (x9)....2700 credits at $10 a credit....bitch.....LOL
Caesars was mean to me so I left, played a bit more at Paris and caught back up, almost.
Then went to PH, got my first hand pay, $1200 and and typing this in iPhone at dinner.
Post more later and tomorrow plus photos when I get home

    See ya!

    Good morning.
Bed about midnight, realized the curtains are electric, which is cool. Speaking of the curtains, there's a second set between the living room and dining room, so once you close the bedroom curtain (no door), along with the window curtains, it is BLACK in the room. I woke about 7:30am, and room still seemed same as midnight. Other than the glow of the alarm clock (iPhone/iPad compatible) and the one light on the smoke detector, that room is pitch black. It's like sleeping in an interior cabin on a cruise ship.
Overall after dinner and talking to you guys last night, went and played over at Bellagio. Play went well, played two credit five dollars slot machines for the most part and was up down up down with wins of $600, $500 and so on, no hand pays. Sometimes it was a matter of playing to get back even. I was up maybe almost $1000 at one point on the visit, but then either I turned cold or the machines did lost all my gains and then some. Decided to stop the bleeding and started playing down, going to nickels and pennies, this actually worked as I'd hit small decent wins or bonuses, get to $60 or a hundred and then bail. Then went back to Caesars to try again, the HL stuff was mean again, so went to playing down like at B, and it got me a few more bucks. Overall for the strip, my stats are: down about $1k, but if you figure coin in and all, I am down a LOT more than that.
Oh, when I returned to room last night, about 11:30, I was hungry so I got a croissant at the bakery, and then when I opened my door, there was a room service cart with four large bottles of water, a tray full of cheese, fruit and crackers. score!
Have an appointment with David at the Art of Shaving at Apothecary at 11, and later tonight I am going to go see Shania Twain, and since set up by my host, I have no idea what tix/seats we have.
I am looking out my window and see the B Fountains service crew on their little boat and walking around in the water, it's about chest deep. That's cool to see.

Thanks Engicedave. The report is great so far. It is nice to see you can take some chances and hope for a big win, but when it doesn't pay off you are ok with playing small and hope for another chance. Sounds fun! I haven't heard anyone comment on the Shania concert. Be sure and let us know. Have a great day!

Went and had a nice shave at The Art of Shaving at the Apothecary. Don't be confused, there's a regular Art of Shaving and there's the one in the Apothecary. This one, because its not corporate owned offers a bit more in their service. Your master barber is David, highly recommend him. In line for my will call tix for Shania Twain tonight. Play has been fun, but not fruitful. I'm playing a bit lower today as well, since I am drifting between casinos.
For those of you who complain about the smell in Venetian, you're right, smells like a perfume shop. Too strong. Played in TI a bit, first I have been in there since sold.
Ok, my ticket is orchestra section 5. Guess that's pretty decent.
I'll let you know how show is

I hope the show is good.

Did you get the cart of goodies as an "oops, we owe you one"?

No, that's pretty common for her, but usually it's in room upon arrival

I would love to know who your host is so I could hook up with her. She sounds like she values her customers.

OK, Shania Twain, I have to start this by being a pig.....yeah, I'd hit it.
She starts by wearing a skin tight sequined cat suit, and it (she) looks good. Another part she's in skin tight jeans...smokin'
There's two horses in the show, one black one white, the best part was that the white one pooped on the stage, everyone chuckled and the poop squad sprinted out at the end and quickly scooped it up.
The Shania Twain show itself was good, not great, but good. The venue, technology and stagecraft was top notch, really good, as for her voice, it was "good," not "great." This isn't to say she sounded like crap, she sounded good, but as with all of us, as we age our voices change a little and she had that throat issue a few years back, so her voice is not as strong as it was nor can she hit notes she once could, but who of us can, right? I will say this, she couldn't win American Idol.
What I was most impressed with was her personality and how she could make such a large venue feel intimate. She walked into the audience a few times, and the number of people giving her hugs, while singing, was amazing, and she did it all with a smile.
I enjoyed the show, and if you like her music, it's worth the money, if you're not a fan, tough call.
After the show played a bit more at Caesars, the HL room was whipping my ass, so I moved on to other machines and saw this 2x3x4x5x machine that was 20 lines at .25, so I put in $40 to see how it was, played it as two credits ($10) and quickly hit about $360
Fooled around a bit more and went back over to the other HL slot area across the hall from the actual HL slot room, played a $5 2-credit Diamond 5x Pays, and it was playing nice, and then hit Bar-7/Red-7/5x....$2000! Hand pay #3
So one hand pay at PH, one at Paris and one at Caesars.
Did about 12,000 Tier credits (in two days)....so I guess with their new Diamond bonus thing, I probably got an additional 5000 tier credits per day, so I guess I will wind up with about 22,000 tier credits from this trip. So Diamond status seems safe, especially since I am going back in a few weeks.
Post up some photos later today or tomorrow.
