Not sure where to put this, or if it is already posted here somewhere, but I found a really cool website that is extremely detailed on the history of Vegas hotels. It is current right up to the last couple of months, and includes some good pictures. It takes some time to go through all of it, but I posted the beginning here, and at the bottom of each page, you can click forward a decade.

I remember reading it ages ago and then couldn't find it again, thanks for posting it on here and with an update as well.
It is such a well written piece that you just can't stop reading and the pictures are awesome as well, I especially loved the part about the mob in Vegas that was really interesting.

Someone just posted this late last month.

Something like this should be stickied.

I'm tempted to dump the site onto a HDD in case it goes kapoot. Someone did something similar with the casino maps before.

Thanks for posting the link. Great site and really well done. I have read a few of John's trip reports and he sure does get around and gives a unique perspective of vegas on his trip reports. Thanks again for posting, looking forward to digging deeper into it.

Tried to give it a cursory overview but I got totally hooked. Seems like a great deal of research went into this. Loved the part on the Stardust with all the history of the mob influence there. Also loved the pics of the "Crazy Girls" bronze sculpture outside the Riv. Great website, thanks.:peace:

Intended to read some of the recent history, but am now fascinated by the whole story so havew decided to read it from the start.
Up to 1920 so far and loving every bit of it. Great historical and updated pictures interspersed in amongst the informative and amusing text.
