I've been to Vegas many times, but never played roulette, so I've a dumb question:

    Say it's a $10 limit table, and I want to place 5 bets (for example), do I need to place 5x $10 bets, or can I place 5x $2 bets = $10?

Roulette tables will publish their table limits with two pieces of information. Inside minumum bet and outside minimum bet. If you saw a $10 min limit, that most likely is the minimum for the outside bets (red, black, even, odd, etc). The inside bet limit (on any of the 38 numbers) will probably be around $1 minimum or as stated at the table. I hope that answers your question.

On the inside numbers you can place $2 bets in 5 places or spread your $10 however you like. On the outside you would have to place $10 on each spot ($10 on Black or $10 on Even, $10 on 1st 12, etc).

So if it's a $10 minimum table and you want to play $1 inside bets with a $100 bankroll, you can ask for 100 $1 chips? Never tried that, but...

    No dumb questions about Roulette.

Okay, there is one, and it goes something like this:

"What is the system where you can beat the house?"

    LOL!!
