Going to stay 2 nights (weekday) by the middle of May. Toss-up between Aria (M-Life) and Cosmo (badass hotel). Just looking for a basic King nonsmoking in a relatively quiet area with a nice bed; someplace I can retreat to either relish in my winnings or lick my wounds.

I've seen Aria room videos and also heard the Cosmo basic room is 2 queens. Never saw the use in an extra bed taking up space, unless it's a kickass bed (a la Mirage). In one Aria video, it was advised to get a room on at least the 25th floor. Any other suggestions?

Aria's bed kicks the shit out of the Mirage's bed. it's amazing.

Never been on a Cosmo bed

Cosmopolitan is great on so many levels. The beds are AMAZING! I've never slept better in my life! Plus, some Cosmo rooms have terraces which are awesome, especially when they look over the fountain. Cosmo also has some great bars, one of the best clubs in the world, and great dining options. I stayed there last year and swore I would stay someplace new this time. Doesn't look like that's going to happen. I just can't part with the views or beds!

haven't stayed at Cosmo yet but keep saying I will. they know they are the best according to the prices I always see on their rooms, but it sounds worth it!

Both properties have great aspects. Depends on what you are looking for. If the bed and room are key, I think the standard Aria room beats the basic Cosmo room. But if you upgrade a few bucks to the studio room at Cosmo, it blows Aria away

If you're looking for a great hotel, stay at Cosmo. If you're looking for a great hotel/casino combo, stay at Aria. In terms of rooms they are virtually on par with each other... but the rest of the hotel and the restaurants at the Cosmo I think are slightly better than the Aria.

Though the Cosmo is running a hotel first and foremost and their casino, player program (Identity), and gamblers are merely an afterthought.

If playing where you stay while earning future comps is important to you... stay at the Aria.

You cant go wrong with both properties.

Aria - The 25th floor is where the suites start - i think. But i forget what floors was on the elevator buttons at sky suites. But if you are in the lower floors and depending where you are located - you can feel the vibration of the club. It was like that for me when i was on the 8th floor in a standard room but you are going midweek, so you will be ok. The beds are comfortable probably one of the best. It all depends on you. Some people like stiffer beds or some like a really soft.

Cosmo - Room are nice and the beds are comfortable as well.

I agree with the post above. If you are there to gamble - stay at the Aria. They will always cater to gamblers first. Cosmo is more of a place for the hotel room and clubs/bars. Just my opinion.

I just got back from 5 nights at Cosmo after spending my last 6 trips at Aria.
I had a One Bedroom Terrace at Cosmo and usually stay in the SkySuites at Aria.
That being said, the room at Cosmo probably compares price wise to an Aria Corner Suite.
I am going to write a full blown comparison as there are positives to both properties.
The terrace was nice as it faced the fountains but overall the room was not as nice as an Aria Corner.
The bed at Cosmo was comfortable but Aria has the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced and I spend about 50 nights a year in hotels.
The restaurants in both hotels are excellent and saying they are better in one hotel vs.the other is not being objective.
I will stay at Cosmo again but overall Aria is a better choice for me.

For me, no question. Cosmo. Loved it! Rate it a 10, Aria a 7.

Yeah, I think I've settled on the Aria. I'll either have to budget food & not go crazy or limit my stay there, considering I was going to stay at the MC or NYNY for cheaper. Who knows, at the rate I'm going my mind will change in the next day.
