What time does the Boar's Head Bar open? I am planning on meeting friends there before lunch but I realized I didn't know if they would be open in the morning!

    Thanks Joe :)

24/7 but no food there. For that you have to go to the 777 brewpub which opens at 11 AM everyday and closes at 7 AM. Or...the buffet which opens at 7 AM daily.

Great happy hour specials at the 777 M-F 3-6 PM, except there might be exceptions with the NCAA BB tourney on right now.

There are about 30 of us doing the lunch buffet at noon  but my plan is to meet a few of them beforehand at the bar. Sounds like it will work out perfectly! Thanks!

Very good, please report back on the lunch buffet. Honestly, the only time I eat in the buffet is breakfast and even that isn't too often. I would much sooner wait for the 777 to open at 11 AM.

30 people though, I'd like to hear how that all works out since they don't take reservations.

    Have fun and win!

I'll let you know. I think the guy arranging things has spoken to them and they are expecting us. I'm not sure if it's an actual reservation or not.

Last year there were 20 or so of us, and we ate in 777 during Happy Hour. It was a bit chaotic, so hopefully this will go a little smoother. I won't care though, because I will have had a couple at the bar first

My favorite bar in Vegas and delicious premium meats and cheeses.... there might be something to the whole Boar's Head thing.

I always thought 777 was the Boar's Head Bar. I play at the FP machines near the entrance by that bar. Do they have FP JOB and or DB at the Bar? Do they have FP JOB or DB at 777? If they do, I see extremely long sessions in the future.

    The more you know....

MSS = $2 beer, comped while playing.

A decade ago the 777 had a high-top with 4 VP machines. Now, no machines in the 777 at all.

I'm a little confused by your question. The Boar's Bar has JOB, Bonus, DB & DDB. 9/6 on the JOB, 7/5 on Bonus, 9/7 on DB and 9/5 on DDB.

Across the street at The Cal you can find 9/6 DDB, but no JOB.

that bar is one of my favorites. Will be back at Main St soon, last Vegas trip was October. I also like playing vp at 4Queens.
When Plaza had full pay JOB I got 2 royals there but can not find 9/6 now.
The machines were next to the swingers club and they are gone.

I believe it is called the Bronze Boar Bar. It is my favorite place to play VP and drink. Nice cool marble counter tops. Great staff.

Wow how long has that page been there?

I had no idea it was officially called that. Some of the people who work at the bar don't even know its official!

I guess I better go there as soon as possible. :(

Don't know when that will be.

Thanks Joe. I was looking for either 9/6 JOB or 10/7 DB (I also play FPDW or NSUD). I will find and occupy a seat at the Boars Head bar for the first time in August!!! I wish 777 still had machines at the bar, but I can always take a break from the bar for a quick bite.

If I was Boyd/MSS, I dunno if I would be dancing so close to copyright infringement on their webpage with the font/logo.

I found 1 9/6 JoB when I was there in the beginning of February. It was right next to a 9/5 machine. I hope that's not gone too!

    Regarding the 10/7 DB VP.

It is my belief that there are no longer any BARS in Vegas offering 10/7 DB.

I would love to be wrong!

Years ago, I spent many happy hours playing 10/7 DB bartops at the Orleans. But, alas, they are all gone. Gone, also, are the 10/7 DB triple play machines which were close to my heart.

    I know, I could search VPfree2.

    But I've not found any.

So.....call me out! Correct me! Maybe some horrid tiny casino infested with the dredges of humanity.

Let me know where the BARTOP or triple play 10/7 DB dwells, and I shall visit it!

W/O looking at VPfree also, Santa Fe had a carousel of 10/7 DB back near the bowling alley entrance on the far west side of the casino. That was 3 years ago so I don't know if it still exists.

Regarding the lunch buffet at MSS:

    I'm easy to please.

Breakfast is my favorite meal in LV, and I love the breakfast buffet at MSS.

However, at times I end up at the lunch buffet there. I really like it. Fried chicken with collard greens? Why, yes! I think I will! Without getting all mushy about it, it reminds me of the way my grandmother cooked for family occasions on a farm in Texas about a lifetime ago.

Will the chefs at Wynn approve of the food? Probably not.

But here's the acid test --

Could you you keep that buffet going in the French Quarter of New Orleans?

Yep. Believe you could. Kind of like Cafe Maspero near Jackson (only no pidgeons walking by your table).

What I mean is, when you want some simple food, cooked well, and you don't want to wait all day for the privilege of paying triple, then that's a good place.

So, will it be hard to seat 30?

Simple answer: No. Just spread out a bit.
