Going to Vegas again next week. The last few times I've been there, I've only seen tables that pay 6:5.

Does anyone know where I can find tables that pay 3:2?

I apologize if this has been already posted. Thanks.

Flamingo had some 3:2. Margaritaville at flamingo had 3:2 sometimes, you have to check before you play. They change it on the min/max display screen. All "party" pits will have 6:5. I think hooters had 3:2 also.

As far as the strip goes all the MGM casinos and Wynn have tons of 3:2. The ubiquity of 6:5 is largely a CET thing....because they suck. Don't even call that blackjack, call it assrape-jack. You didn't mention your limits. That matters.

Here's the Wizard of Odd's Vegas blackjack survey, it only shows 3:2 games:

Where did you play that you only saw 6:5 tables?

For whatever reason, it appears that a lot of poster will trash CET whenever they can.

At CET, they have 3:2 tables. If you play at minimum of $25 at double deck or shoe bj, they have 3:2 tables.

I don't get where people can't see that CET offers 3:2.

The 6:5 ratio is at single deck or in party pit tables.

But pretty much most casinos on the in Vegas have 3:2 for bj, unless single deck, etc.

Off the top of my head (check the table before you play, because they also have 6:5)

$5 3:2 -- Excalibur, NYNY on weekdays, Monte Carlo on weekdays, Luxor.

$10 3:2 -- MGM (except on fight night or big concert night), Mirage (most of the time), NYNY, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, sometimes Bellagio.

LAV I know you are a loyal CET customer and they treat you well. But by your own admission you play exclusively high limit pai gow poker, if you were exclusively a BJ or VP player (which a lot of people on this board are) you might feel differently about them.

I haven't really played at CET casinos in Vegas for years so I admit my info is mostly second hand or based on what I see when wandering through their casinos. But here's a list of the average BJ house edge for each strip casino (as of 2011) and all the CET casinos rank in the bottom half:

    http://wizardofvegas.com/guides/blackjack-ranking/

Even at higher limits you have better and at least more numerous options at MGM casinos. If it were restricted to just $5 and $10 tables at CET that would be one thing, but I saw it at $25 tables as well which means its just creeping up. You can't excuse the party pit thing either when having a big party pit section is becoming a norm for them. That would be like ranking the casinos just by the house edge of the games offered in their high limit rooms - in which case they'd all pretty much be the same.

    Kickenchicken,

I understand that it's one thing to say that other casinos have better/more liberal bj rules than CET.

However, the OP seemed to have suggested that he only saw 6:5 tables.

My point is that 3:2 bj tables exist virtually everywhere in Vegas, including all the CET properties.

While I no longer play blackjack, I did start my gambling career playing only bj. I also still have friends who play bj and when we go, they go to the $25 tables, and virtually everytime, these are 3:2 for bj. Sure they don't play single deck, but my point is that you can find 3:2 virtually anywhere in Vegas, including at CET props-albeit with more restrictive rules possibly.

Yes, every casino has 3:2 blackjack. If you just do a cursory look at a few tables at the front of a CET property you might think they all are 6:5, but that's not the case. The party pit? 6:5. Single deck (and some double-deck)? 6:5. Some shoes with $5 or $10 limits? 6:5. But everything else will be 3:2.

I've been staying a Flamingo lately and they have a lot of these 6:5 shoe games, but you just step over to Margaritaville and almost all the shoes are 3:2.

Some places (Aria, and other MGM properties) have zero 6:5 tables.

    Easy answer is this:
For single-deck? Only the El Cortez, downtown...virtually everyone else is 6:5.

For 2-deck? All of the 2-deck downtown is 3:2. On the strip, you may have to bet $25 in some places, but there's still plenty of 3:2 two-deck @ $10 on the Strip....even at $5 if you stray on down to Circus!

If you want the "party pit" atmosphere & scenery, but don't want 6:5, go to the Golden Gate downtown, after dark.

This. Literally every casino both on the strip and off has 3:2 BJ. The caveat is that it depends on what limits you're looking to play. $5 BJ it will be tough to find those limits with 3:2 anywhere on strip and it will most likely depend on time/day/events.

Single deck 3:2 is going to be hard to find anywhere. Single deck makes it easy to count cards, and the tradeoff is that it pays out less on BJ.

If you're going to play $25 or more a hand, you can find 3:2 at any casino, although the other rules may vary. Also most casinos, including CET, will also have 3:2 on lower limit games in the $10-15 range.

Despite the threads lamenting 6:5 BJ on here, it's not nearly as widespread as you may think. Avoid the party pits, and play at limits higher than $5 and 3:2 BJ is still plentiful and the norm.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll give a littler more info. that may help.

My last two trips I have stayed at the Flamingo. I was playing right by the entrance to the Flamingo, the area where you can literally walk like 15 feet and be outside. There are a polls in those pits in which the Go Go dancers dance. For some reason, I remember them being 6:5.

I also played in the Flamingo over by the roulette wheels. That was single deck blackjack and it was also 6:5.

I typically sit down at a table with a $10 min. Maybe that's why I'm not seeing as much 3:2. It seems like a lot of people are saying the $25 min. tables have more 3:2 action.

Also, it seemed like places like Casino Royale and O'Sheas (even though its not there anymore) had lower mins and better odds (ex. one green on the roulette wheel). Basically, the older casinos...

This is a business trip and I will be staying at the Mirage April 2-7th. What are the tables like there? I got really good drink service at the Flamingo but I was tipping $5 a drink. My bankroll will be larger this trip since my company is paying for my plane tickets, food, and hotel room.

You should be able to find $10 3:2 at Mirage, and really most of the other casinos as well. You have to stay away from the single deck and party pits (where the dancers are). At those limits you'll have to pay closer attention, and in some of the casinos at the lower limits you'll have a 6:5 BJ table right next to a 3:2 table and they'll be the same min.

As I said in my earlier post, 6:5 isn't as prevalent as you'd think based on the threads on here, but it is pretty much the norm on $5 tables, single deck, and party pits.

stackinchips I'll admit my opinion on 6:5 prevalence is largely based on things I read or just casually remember seeing when wandering through certain casinos. Not any real personal experience at the casinos and limits I play. But I think it depends on what you consider prevalent to mean.

Maybe you have updated numbers but the only thing I found on a quick google search was from Stanford Wong's BJ21 site which lists a table of the 6:5 BJ from 2006 (I believe that's the year, can't really tell though).

    http://www.bj21.com/bj_reference/pages/6to5blackjackpayout.shtml

On the Las Vegas strip there were 231 6:5 tables or about 16% of all the BJ tables on the strip....and that was in 2006, just shortly after 6:5 was introduced. It has to be a lot higher now, maybe twice that amount or more. I would even consider the 16% number from back then to be "prevalent". And as you can see in places like AC (which I visit more often) there is hardly any 6:5. So optically it definitely looks like there's a lot when I see it in Vegas...at least at the CET properties.

I'm not sure either, but even if it's 20% that still means that there are 4 3:2 tables for every one 6:5, and many of those are party pit and single deck tables.

For a strictly $5 BJ player, it's probably tough to find many tables that aren't 6:5, but for anyone playing higher than that, it shouldn't be that difficult or that you need to go to a specific casino or two to find it. There are constant threads on here that sometimes may give the impression that finding 3:2 BJ is like trying to find a steak on the menu at a Vegan restaurant.

I saw 6/5 blackjack for the first time in 1998 at Paris (a Park Place Property at the time).

Wong still has a for purchase sheet (I have bought them in the past - they saved time on short trips when I solely focused on gambling / blackjack).

They offer a sample issue from April 2010.

Every casino throughout the Vegas valley offered a red chip (either $5 or $10 minimum) 3/2 Blackjack game. Strip, downtown, locals and off-strip.

Linked here is a self reporting site of all current 3/2 games in Vegas (not as accurate/current as Wong's April 2013 newsletter, but good enough).

All but one current downtown, strip or off-strip/locals property (including all CET properties) offer red chip blackjack (most at $5 or $10 minimums - a few high end properties & most CET properties have $15 minimums). You can find $10 minimum 3/2 shoes at Bally's, IP and Flamingo.

Casino Royale (they still offer blackjack switch) is the only Strip, Downtown or Off Strip/Locals casino with live blackjack and no 3/2 blackjack offered at any table. Then again, they are now a Best Western. :rolleyes2:

I remember the now shuttered O'Sheas as the only other casino I saw nothing but 6/5 blackjack tables in my 40 trip history.

There may come a day when one or more (or perhaps a majority) of Vegas Strip casinos cease offering red chip blackjack with 3/2 odds. We are hopefully a long way from seeing it.

^^^This is essentially what I was getting at^^^

Unless you're playing strictly $5 BJ, and you want to find 3:2 BJ, all you have to do is walk downstairs from your room. You can find a 3:2 $25 game in literally ANY casino, and you can find a $10-$15 3:2 game in 99% of all the casinos.

I saw some $10 dollar 3-2 BJ at Ballys a few weeks ago in the main table area. Be careful, because the table next to it could be a 6-5 game, even though its not in the party pit. The Riveria deals a single deck 3-2 game, but you can only double on 10 or 11.

I found a single deck 3:2 $5 game in the El Cortez on a Saturday night, the downside is you had to play alongside people who had difficulty counting to 21 which some players might find annoying.
