    My Trip Report

This won’t be much of a report. I flew SWA on Saturday and returned home on Wednesday.
Good news-I was flying solo and got ~row 13 each way which is the window seat with no seat in front of me because of it being an exit row.

I know… an incomplete report but it’s hard to measure up to the reports of Royal Flusher, Natedog & Squidwad etc so I didn’t bother. Plus, I forget most of what I did because I become alcohol impaired.:drunk:

I had two glasses of wine on the flight and didn’t have any drink tickets. But, the FA never came and collected the $10. I love SWA! Both flights were on time, but full! Non-stop from Milwaukee and Vegas. Return flight I did have to pay for my two drinks.

My lack of Royals losing streak continues. I have not had one since March 2010. On a good note, I did hit quad aces twice (no kicker) while playing dollar VP and overall counting tips etc, came home with $300 less than I came with. A cheap 4 night vacation and airfare was free because I was using credits. I had a comped suite at MSS and all my meals were free at any of the 3 downtown Boyd properties. I ate at the Redwood twice and Second St Grill once. One ribeye, one prime rib and to be honest, I don’t remember the rest of the meals. I know there was a lobster tail on one of them and some 777 wings on another meal. I met a former cocktail waitress and a bartender friend on Sunday and Monday. Saturday night I had pizza at Chicago Brewing Co, inside Four Queens. Kills me to pay for a meal, but I do like their pizza!

We had a little meet & greet Sunday at the Boar’s Bar. It is always nice to put a face to the VMB’ers who are there at the same time.

Tuesday I took the WAX bus out to Suncoast and gambled there for awhile. 7x points on Tuesday. Alas, my losing streak there just continues. When we lived in Vegas, this was our favorite or second favorite casino next to MSS, but we never hit a hand-pay there. Why it is one of my favorites-no clue, but I do like the employees and the atmosphere. The WAX which I caught on 4th street, across from the D makes only 4 stops on its way to Suncoast. 20 minutes each way and a dollar if you are over 55 with a picture ID. Thanks for the headsup Turtleman, you saved me a buck!

Gambling wise I put 40,000 points on my Emerald card. More than I expected I would do since I met people for dinner and the meet & greet.

I did double book a room at Four Queens only to use my $80 in slot dollars. Loser-dumped $480 Saturday night. Nice room, bathroom was a little small, but if I was paying for it, I'd be happy.

I had a good time and we'll be back April 20th. Crap, is Spring ever going to arrive in WI? 8 degrees this morning. Someone remind me why I moved back to WI from NV.

I did hit the quad aces twice on #1, just no Royal.
I did see Kelli, Jose and just briefly Joey. The only time I saw Brad was when the limo dropped me off and he was walking in behind me. I guess he must have been working in the 777.

I apologize in advance for the people I am about to snub. I have a terrible memory for names and the only names I remember are Turtleman and his wife.

I do know their real names only because I have met them before. So again, I apologize to the others.:drunk: :peace:

Great to meet you at Boar's Head, Joe! Sounds like you had a good trip with very little expense to you. That's always a positive!

Thanks! Been super busy, which is a good thing. Haven't been to LV in almost a year (except for New year's), so not much to report................

Nice job, Joe. thanks for taking time to post. Yeah, after a few days in Vegas and I'm going home with some of the money I brought with me - I'm happy - it's a win in my book.

I love those economical trips to LV. How was it without Mrs. Joe?

Joe, thanks again for the hospitality at the Boar's Head. It's always a treat to put a face to a name. I, too, am wondering what we're doing here in Wisconsin instead of Las Vegas - I even tried to talk hubby into staying an extra week but he had to get back to shovel that white stuff.

Very different! I met up with a cocktail waitress friend and also a bartender friend, but this was only my 2nd solo trip ever and I'm 60 years old.

Work sent me to computer school back in the early 80s in California and that has been it.

I missed my wife on the trip, but this will probably be the last time I travel w/o her. 31.5 years and counting!

Yup, when you reach a certain age, leaving behind the ball and chain just isn't as attractive as it once was. Shoot me!

Hey Joe, sounds like you did ok ending up with about a push in the end. That $40 I was up when I left you at the bar was my first MSS win ever; I should only play there when the mayor of MSS is present buying me Cognac.

The next day the wife and I came back for the prime rib at the 777 and I dropped $600 playing 10 play $0.25 Double Pay DDB Poker at that bank of All Star machines by the entrance. I never seem to win at MSS, other than that few minutes with you at the Boar’s Head, but we like the food there.

By the end of the trip I came up with a push also, due to two Royals the next day elsewhere. I haven’t written a trip report the last two trips since last fall, as I had similar concerns that you mentioned that there just wasn’t much pizzazz to write about since I mostly just gamble and have few pops.

Anyway, glad we met up, and good to see you wrote up your excursion.

Joe I hope I have better luck than you at Suncoast as we will be staying there for 4 nights in April. Is that seat on Southwest the one where there are only 2 seats in the row in front of you? It gives you lots of leg room not having a seat in front of you. Hopefully the royal will come next trip for you.

Yes, only two seats in front of me, so I could stretch out in front of me. Only negative was no seat pocket in front of me.

On the flight out I was able to place my laptop carry on bag in my seat/leg area in front of me. The return trip the FA had a bug up her ass and made me put my laptop in the overhead until we reached electronics on altitude. It is all so silly!

    Hey Joe,

I was one of the VMB'ers that stopped at Boer's Head on Sunday and it was really awesome to meet everybody. I had blast playing there for the couple hours or so and was pleased I was able to put up, as you call it, "The Universal Sign" for a 4OAK. Granted it was only kings if I remember but, I still had a good time. Definitely have to meet up with you again there when I decide to eat before and not be so hungover from the day/night/morning before that way I can enjoy more of that awesome beer that they brew there. Next trip is tentatively September as of now. Unless, of course, Oneida up in Green Bay is friendly in the next few months.

Take care and great to meet you!!!:beer::beer::beer::beer:

Great meeting you also! For a group of 6-10 I think Boar's Head bar is perfect for meetups.
