    I was originally thinking I should stay on the Strip for my next trip so I could have a gym onsite. But....I really don't want to stay on the Strip. I'm just more comfortable downtown. I usually stay at MSS, so I'm thinking I will stay with that but I'm open to other suggestions. Last time in 2010, I stayed with the then BF in a suite at GN. I liked it but wasn't blown away.

    I'm thinking I could maybe get a pass for the 24 hour fitness near downtown:
    100 City Parkway Suite 160
    Las Vegas, NV 89106

    Looking at Google Maps, this looks to be within walking distance of MSS and Fremont. Would I be safe walking there during the day as a solo female, or would I need to drive?

    Another option is staying at MSS and doing 16 ounce curls at the bar!:drunk:
    Good luck. :beer::beer:

    It is safe and walkable. Take the tunnel under the tracks.

    Another option is staying at MSS and getting a pass to the spa/gym at the Golden Nugget...;)

    My sister used the 24 hour fitness in the AM when we stayed at MSS. She jogged there and back each morning. From MSS at the corner with the Cal, it's basically down under an overpass for the train tracks and back up to normal street level and an office complex. I would expect zero problems.

    It's not too bad a walk during the day. The gym is quite nice and last time we went we were able to get a day pass there for $5.

    Thanks all. A nice gym was the one thing missing from MSS for me, so I'm very happy it's so close by.:woohoo:

    I just called them and they said the rate for non-locals was ten dollars for the first day and five for each consecutive day. Nice! Cheaper than the resort fee at the Plaza, which, having a fitness center, was a primary reason for my previous stays there.

    I just let a timeshare shill know I'm slightly interested and let them chase me around for half an hour.

    Thanks for the tip! I had no idea there was a 24 hr Fitness that close. There goes my excuse for skipping the gym while in Vegas...

    To be perfectly honest, that is usually why I don't work out in Vegas. :eek:

    Minneapolis. I don't currently belong to Lifetime, but I've been thinking about switching as my employer has an agreement with Lifetime. Plus, there's one close to work and another closer to home than my current gym.
