As above please, obviously I'm 99% it's a must see attraction for the views?

Anything I need to be aware of etc please?

Hoping to go up on a Weds or Thursday evening, is it $18 each (I think I read?!)

    Thanks

    Chris

Personally I don't think the view is worth the hassle of trekking all the way down to The STRAT . If you want great views of the strip consider the Mandarin Oriental bar or MiX. Just my opinion.

I agree that MO and Mix are nicer venues in better locations, but I think a visit to the Stratosphere is worthwhile, but I'm kind of partial to the old places. The bus goes right by it, so it's not that much of a hassle.

I don't believe you need to pay anything if you go to the bar or restaurant at the top of the Strat. Bar 107 has a happy hour from 4PM-7PM http://www.stratospherehotel.com/Tower/Dining/Level-107-Lounge

A trip up the Tower is well worth it. The restaurants and bars up there are very good - if pricey.

If saving some coin is important, the C-Bar in the Casino has a happy hour from 6-10 each night. For $19.99 you get all the beer, margaritas and martinis you can swallow. And, a VJ plays later on too.

    Worth it.

It just takes a simple Deuce bus ride.

    Yes

If you've never been up there you must go at least once, preferably at night, and take a good camera.

The view is excellent and used to be you could take the VIP elevator to the bar at no charge, as long as you were going to have a few. We always did! All the drinks were doubles, at least for us!. But, we tip well.

Don't know if that dog will still hunt but it's worth a try.

I'm the kind of guy that loves maps, Google Earth, and great views. A MUST see at least once in your life, night is nice, but I like to see what I'm looking at, not just pretty lights.

I stayed there in Nov and I think they just glanced at my room key- tower admission is free (part of resort fee) to hotel guests. Check eBay and you might find a key for a couple bucks

I used a coupon (not sure if it was ACG or LVA) 2/1 tower admittance. We went before sunset, watched the sunset and the lights come on up the strip and downtown. I got some really good pictures (good considering I took them). The nice thing is they have options. You can just go up the tower casual. You can go to the bar for cocktails and the view. You can go to the nice restaurant for dressy dinner.

ACG is the American Casino Guide. LVA is Las Vegas Adviser. A quick google and you're all set.

I agree, it is worth at least a one time visit. As lola mentioned, go before sunset to take pictures in daylight and stay and watch the sunset and then take pictures of vegas at night.

while the MO and mix are nice views I prefer the strat. I also prefer the foundation room for views from the south side.

but then if I also like the view from the voodoo lounge at the rio so there are many places to get a good view of vegas.

I went to the top of the Strat in the 90's during the day and consider it a big mistake I did not go at night. The view is spectacular but would have been much better at night.

definitely worth at least one trip at dusk and stay thru sunset and watch the city come alive. And it's outside, you feel the wind, you are part of it, not stuck behind some glass.

    View from the Strat.

The view is great and I have only seen it in the day, but when I go back in May Iam going to go up at night to see the view across Vegas.

I also recommend the rides on top and the Sky Jump if your brave enough.
