We are planning a trip in June and trying to decide where to stay this time. Typically we stay at Bally's. We love the location and we also like the pool because it isn't so busy. However, we were thinking it would be fun to try something different. Looking at prices it looks as though Bally's, Luxor and Treasure Island are all fairly close in price. Which one would you pick? Since it is June the pool is imporant....or do you have another suggestion? Not Flamingo (pool way too busy).

I'd pick Luxor. I like the casino better than TI or Mirage, even those were two of my favorite properties in the 1990s. I'm actually going to get to try the pool at Luxor my next trip in May, I've always gone in winter. The pool looks very nice.

I also like the restaurant selection better at the south end of the strip.

    I would pick TI.

I like the vibe of the place under the new ownership.

Another vote for TI, although I'm not that happy with some of the changes Ruffin is making. But the casino has a good feel, and it's not so large that you're going to get lost. I also think it's a better location for accessing other casinos.

Honestly all 3 of your picks have bad pool reputations. Out of the three I'd pick TI because of the better rooms.

I'M a TI fan as well... I like that part of the Strip better and agree on the "feel" of the place. The OP didn't want a "busy" pool and TI's pool is nice, though small by Vegas standards, but very well kept and packed the several times I've been there, though the last was 3 years ago.

I've stayed in the Luxor Tower twice and the room was nice. I never warmed up to the place possibly because the longest check-in waits I've ever experienced in Las Vegas (or anywhere for that matter) were the 2 times I stayed at Luxor.

I love Jack Sparrow.........but in this case i'd go with Ramesess II. But the pools are boring. I would stay at Flamingo BECAUSE of the pool. It may be busy but there's a reason for that. Just camp out before the pool opens and voila!! Also, i prefer the Mid-South strip over their northern brothers.

Hmmm....Luxor is more south than I like. TI is a bit more north than I like; however, I like the location of TI better. TI also has very comfortable beds.

Another vote for TI. Luxor is too far south for my liking.

Of the two, I personally prefer the Luxor (Tower Rooms are nice, I haven't stayed in a Pyramid room in a long time).

I would suggest looking into the Monte Carlo to see if the price is comparable. It has a much nicer pool area which is not as busy as the Mandalay or Flamingo and the location is better than Luxor or Ti.

Just to add to my previous comments.............if you stay at Luxor, there is a Tram that goes from Mandalay Bay-Excalibur then Monte Carlo-Bellagio. The reality is Mandalay Bay up to TI is not far by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, i will be at RIO in May and the shuttle is just a couple of minutes away from the strip. This isn't LA or whatever, it's within walking distance of multi-billion dollar resorts. The Strip is just that, a Strip of land in a big wide open stretch of the desert.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought about Monte Carlo so I'm glad you mentioned it. I like the location better than the other 2.
