Already booked a great deal at South Point but got offer for one of the contemporary / plasma rooms at Excalibur for little cheaper and would be on strip.

Is it worth changing or stay where I'm at?

If you plan to be on the strip, as you probably know it's good haul in from South Point.

How long are you there? Could you split the trip and do both?

I could since booked through Orbitz have free cancellation but really didn't want to switch places wife likes to settle in at one place. We will have rental car so no issues with drive.

What it is for same amount of money can get widescreen room at Excalibur as deluxe king room at SP. You get $20 food credit at Excal but fun books with coupons at SP. Think resort fees little cheaper than SP.

I don't believe I am saying this...South Point is our favorite and we find the slots much looser than the strip....BUT if you are only going to be there a few days, go for the strip. Excal is nothing special but to come all the way from VA and only go to SP is going to feel like a disappointment. That is why we split hotels...3/4/5 nights on the strip and then 2/3 nights at SP to end our trip. Driving back and forth to other casinos will get old fast...never mind the liquor factor (we are not big drinkers). We only go once a year and for us to fly across the country we try to make sure we get all of our favorite things packed into our trip.

Okay thanks...... We will be there 6 days and don't drink at all maybe little bit of slots. Mostly to see the sights and eat good food and buffets plus see a few shows and do lots of walking.

I just heard lots bad about the Excalibur regular rooms and all the bed bug stories and all so was wondering if worth it or just drive rental car since are paying for it anyways then park on strip and walk from there or drive downtown then drive car back to SP at night.....

I stayed at the Excalibur plasma room and I loved the room. There were only two downsides:

    - Very busy/slow elevators
    - Room was facing the pool area, hence, upbeat music started at 9 AM, waking me up, although I was at some 15 floors above the pool.

Still, I do recommend Excalibur plasma room, being on the strip is well worth it and the rooms are quite comparable to mid-tier strip hotels.
