Looking at different casino website and noticed you can sign up for Player Cards online. My question is does the casino mail the cards to you or do you just save time completing the forms online and pickup the card at the casino?
You're just saving time from standing in line filling out the form, or having the clerk type it all in the computer. When you arrive at the casino, you'll be able to just show your ID, they will look it up in the compter, and print out your card.
If they any kind of promotion for new member sign up, you more than likely wont get it if you sign up early online. I had this problem a few years ago and had to fight to get the current promotion.
I would say it doesn't even save time. They won't mail a card out to you for signing up online and you aren't going to get anything like comped nights offered or offers with free play or food comps, etc - those are all based on your history of play with their casino and since you would have no history as a new signup means they won't have anything for you. From some places you might get some offers for discounted rooms, but those are going to be the same as you would have gotten if you just signed up for their mailing list or if you checked their Facebook or Twitter posts. And it doesn't save signup time because whether you have a card or not: when you do get to the casino and go up to the slot club booth you will still have to stand in line, still produce ID, they will still scan your ID, type in their computer for a few minutes, etc before finally printing your card out. The only real effect signing up online has is: if they have some kind of sign up bonus, IE: free play or a loss rebate or some kind of knick-knack gift, then by signing up online you are giving that up - because once you get to the casino to pick up your card, you won't be considered a new signup anymore.
Don't waste your time! I signed up online for the Golden Nugget players card, filled in all my info, then got a congrats message that said now go to the casino to get your card. 3 weeks later I went to the players club to get my card. Surprise!! They didn't have my info. The girl at the desk said they haven't been able to connect with the website to get the info for months!!! But I did have better luck signing up online for the Mlife card. Go figure!
sign up when you get there. many times you will get a few buck free play that you wont get signing up online. plus you just give them your I.D. and they do all the work.
The only benefit to signing up early is if you are earning rewards outside of the casino. Totalrewards marketplace for example requires an account to earn RCs but you don't need to get the card to start earning.
