OK I'm officially done with CET. Heading to town next week for our yearly MM Trip staying at Planet Hollywood. Today one of our guys was hospitalized and cant make the trip. One of the rooms was under his name as primary with me as the secondary. Tried to call and have me moved to primary and place new secondary. Of course they wont use the rates we originally booked under ($200 total for 5 nights, 3 comped, 1 @ 75, 1 @125), now since its the week before its $1052:grrr: (looked up on CET website and thats worse than the listed rates). Now I'm not a large player by any means but when you have been a loyal CET member for many years and contribute my yearly 3-5k on the same week every year I would expect a little better service.

Anyone have any advice? My only thoughts would be to go to MGM and pay up front and hope that 30-40 hrs of 25$-50$ a hand BJ would get something taken off the back end?

As a business traveler used to getting treated like gold by hotel chains, really is disappointing to just be part of the corral of fresh meat ready to be raped by the CET/MGM monster.:grrr:

Not sure how much I'd blame the hotel. Obviously if the website deal is better than what you hear over the phone, cancel and do your own booking.

But not really a surprise that they would not match a deal under his player # without him there, not that rates would be way up one week out.

Although if you're the lesser of two players and play that much BJ Im kind of surprised you weren't fully comped to start with.

If you're really mad enough to be done with CET after this, you should consider splitting your stay. You might get COMP at Flamingo or Harrahs for the 3 weeknights, and you could book at an mlife property for the weekend). Then no play the CET comp, and you'll have 5 days of MLIFE play to cut down 2 nights worth of hotel.

    In short, screw em' back.

Problem solved, with the recent purchase of the Trop by hilton a quick call to the diamond line scored a room with points. This will allow me to gamble at mgm without being on the dole and build a bank with them for next trip.

Oh and 2 reasons for not having upfront comp I think would be a we move around too much through casinos, typ 2-3 a day through the trip and b we only go once a year every year (MM). So if they know that prob not worth it for them to comp, if I knew someone was coming the same time every year regardless of comp, I wouldnt comp. Guess we will see next year if we get any offers.

    Suck it CET:Þ

I know next week is a busy week. But if you truly are playing that much money I would think you would be getting those nights free at Planet Hollywood. Although you didn't specify which room.

With you putting that much through I am surprised you aren't fully comped by yourself too. Are you looking at the rate calendar?

The problem may be the timing. I can get comped at harrah's/IP and mostly Rio, but PH would be ~$1000. I just think they may be very low on rooms right now. Caesars is actually cheaper for me than PH for that weekend.

I think you have answered the question.

Casinos comp up front based on your play. It appears your play is such that they do not think it is worth giving out comps at the higher level of room. Simple financials.

Then, you add in the variables of current bookings, etc. After all, why give away rooms if they can get people to pay for them?
