    Dear fun-loving people,

I love stand-up comedy, but it's a lot more fun when enjoying it with company! Does anyone like to join me to the Riviera Comedy Club on Sunday the 12th of May?
We can combine it with dinner at the Peppermill, since it's just around the corner (tnx for the tip, sammowhammo!) and on my wish-list for a long time already.

Since the Queen Victoria Pub will be closed and more people voted for dinner at the Peppermill befóre the show anyway, I suggest the following schedule:

    - As of 5:30pm - meeting for drinks at the lounge of The Peppermill Restaurant and Lounge

    - Around 6:15pm - dinner at the restaurant of The Peppermill Restaurant and Lounge

    - Around 8:00pm - heading towards the Riviera Comedy Club for the show at 8:30pm

I hope you will join me!

I love this idea. I am planning on attending.

Also, if you want a "free" riviera comedy club ticket, buy the american casino guide book on amazon.com or something for $11 bucks. It comes with lots of nice coupons as well. Having the free ticket also allows flexibility.

The ticket is also $9.99 on halfpriceshows.com. I love riviera comedy club though. I have been twice before. A different show every week.

I am conflicted on dinner before or after.

If I had to choose, it would be after just in case people get lethargic after a "big" meal. lol Go to the show first! But then some would like to be a little "toasted" at the comedy club. Either way is fine with me.

I guess choice is always good.

Thank you so much for being the coordinator for the solo-fest!

I think I am in for this solo-tastic event. Before or after at the Peppermill is fine with me.

I went to the Comedy Club in November for the first time and loved it. I will make every effort to visit again this June. I also want to see Crazy Girls for the first time this June. :evillaugh

I have also been to the Riviera Comedy Club before and love it too! We had a coupon from the internet (half price). I will check if I can find it again and print it out a couple of times.

Regarding dinner before or after: What about meeting-up around 7:30pm at a bar or pub nearby for some drinks, to get to know eachother and to get into the spirit(s), then head to the Comedy Club together and have dinner afterwards at the Peppermill? This way everyone can choose if they want to join the drinks beforehand and/or the dinner afterwards, or just join-in for the comedy gig only.

I'm not very familiar in the area, but I saw on the website there's a pub inside the Riviera resort -> Queen Victoria Pub. Maybe we could meet-up for drinks there?

The show starts at 8:30. Meeting at 7:30 for drinks beforehand isn't enough time. On the other hand, having dinner at 10:00 is late (for us anyway). How about meeting at the Peppermill at 6:00 for food, drink, whatever we want, and then go to the show?

Yea, I guess 7:30 is a bit late. But for a big meal, 6pm is too early for me.

    What about this:

    - Meeting as of 6pm at Queen Victoria Pub for drinks and a bite (saw on the menu chicken -fingers and -wings for example).

    - Heading towards the Riviera Comedy Club at about 8pm, so we'll have our seats and drinks before the show starts at 8:30.

    - Around 10pm - dinner at the Peppermill (not sure at what time the show ends, but I guess not later than 10pm?).

This way, you could still go for a bigger meal at Queen Victoria Pub and have something light like an appetizer + desert at the Peppermill later?
And other people might not want to start so early and join in for just drinks at Queen Victoria Pub, and save their hunger for later at the Peppermill?

For me it doesn't really matter when it comes to it, as long as everybody is happy. (I'm such an angel!)
I can have something light at the Peppermill, if we decide to have dinner before the show, and then have a late-night snack afterwards.

I'm sure we'll find something that is OK with everyone!

    :peace:

So, no solo-fest with us, that's bad!
But nice that you have company, sammowhammo!

Hi all, I will definitely be joining, love comedy clubs and have always wanted to go to Peppermill. Lady Fortuna, I like the schedule you proposed. The Queen Victoria pub is supposed to have a good Sunday Roast Dinner too.

Sunday is my move day from SunCoast to Mandalay Bay, so I will probably be driving straight down the strip from MB to the Riviera. If anyone wants a pick up, just let me know.

Great you will join, travelfiend! And I'm happy you like the schedule too! It stayed so quiet after the proposal, I was worried the event wouldn't go through, only because of the dinner time.

I might take you up on your offer to drive along with you. Let's stay in touch?

When I think about it, I would rather have dinner at 6pm.

I decided to catch a comedy club this trip (this weekend, otherwise we would join you) and got a lot of help from this thread. I didn't consider the Riviera until reading this. I checked them out and liked the acts there over any other clubs. I got the tix 1/2 price. I just wanted to thank you for the info. I will do my best to let you know how it goes.

Dear all, sorry for my long absence! I got fully occupied in life and work. And also had to overcome the loss of sammowhammo... :D
On the other hand, time went really fast and now it's only a couple of days until my trip!

I'm not sure who still wants to attend, but I still plan to go to the show that evening and will be at the agreed time and place for dinner.
I won't make any reservations, until your feedback to do otherwise. But so far the following people were planning to attend:

    - sco5123
    - Candy Apple & partner
    - travelfiend
    - Lady Fortuna

Since the Queen Victoria Pub will be closed and more people voted for dinner at the Peppermill befóre the show anyway, the schedule:

    - as of 5:30pm - meeting for drinks at the lounge of The Peppermill
    - around 6:15pm - dinner at the restaurant of The Peppermill
    - around 8:00pm - to the Riviera Comedy Club for the show at 8:30pm

I will be able to check the board for replies the next two days and will then be traveling on Sunday.
But I will have internet available in my room in Vegas as well, so there is still time enough left to finalise any plans.

    Hope you will join!!

PS to travelfiend: I will bring some drop with me, just in case ;)
