I like the late night (after midnight) menu at the 777 Brew Pub. Cheap food, $2 microbrews, $2.50 wine.
Burgers etc after midnight, + breakfast items begin at 2 AM.

I have yet to try the pub food at MSS. I might find my way there on March 30. I looked up their online menu not so long ago and saw that there are not 3 p.m. happy hours on the weekends. Are their food prices the same after midnight as happy hour? Is there some jumbo shrimp appetizer? I read raves about it last fall, but didn't see it on their online menus.

$2 beers are great, although last fall the VP bar had pints at $1.75 24/7.

Yes, the beers are always $1.75 at the main bar, but the OP wanted food options.
I've never seen a jumbo shrimp appetizer. They have a bucket of shrimp, maybe in the ~40 per pound size. 20 for $9, 40 for $15.

Yes!! My favorite also. Great hangover and comfort food. Anywhere between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. the Market St. Cafe is swamped with patrons, and almost every table has orders of Oxtail Soup.

Steaming, savory hot beef broth with vegetables and tender, fall-off-the -bone meat. Mmmmm....slurp....smack....:licklips::banana::woohoo:

I haven't been there in awhile, but Uncle Joe's Pizza on Fremont (just the other side of LV Blvd) has some mean thin-crust slices... good burgers too. Pretty sure they're open till midnight. Cash only, no cards.

The shrimp bucket used to be on the happy hour specials for $4.50, and it was fantastic. It's hard to get ecxoted about getting it for $9 or $15, but I still ordered one the last time I went.

i remember reading that. thanks for the update. i can eat good shrimp just about any time of the day. although shrimp isn't what many people think of when they think of late night foods, i'll have a shrimp cocktail late at night on occasion. other than at golden gate, i can't find a good one downtown, although i don't seek them out. last spring i tried the 99-cent version at the fremont (i think) and it was garbage.
