Lets say I have a room booked and I won't be getting into Vegas till 8:00pm and let's say since I'm getting in later than standard check in time what if hotel is Sold Out of rooms? What about my deposit I've sent to them? Will they upgrade me to a suite ( if they have any)or will they just say sorry and I get sent all over town looking for a room? Anyone had this happen or know what does happen? It's for march 23-26 which is looking really busy!

Having worked in hotels in the past, I know that a good hotel will never "walk" a guest with a confirmed reservation.

For example, if you simply booked a ROTH room, you may get placed in a higher class of room, possibly a suite. The worst that will most likely happen is that you'll get placed in a similar (or often times better) property under the same management.

I have heard horror stories, however, of people with reservations in the old Vegas World being overflowed to such things as the Cockie Lockie Motel in the backstreets! :)

First off, 8pm is not that late in Vegas. Actually, not that late for many hotels, but surely not in Vegas.

Walking is rare these days with all the rooms in Vegas. They would move you up a room class before walking you.

Which hotel are you concerned about? If an MGM or CET hotel, they have a ton of options.

8 pm isn't all that late for Vegas check-ins, though I sometimes worry about it myself. If I know I'll be arriving at night, I make a quick call just to let them know. Never had a problem; in fact, most of my upgrades have resulted from late check-ins. (I should do it all the time, but prefer getting it out of the way.) We'll probably spend most of Friday downtown and check into Suncoast that night. I intend to call them.

In room at Gold Coast at the moment.

First time in Vegas we got the FLY AROUND with Delta and finally landed at 11:15pm.....checked in at MGM around midnight and got our BEST FREE upgrade ever in Vegas....most of Vegas's hotels have THOUSANDS of rooms....I highly doubt they ever run out of rooms to where they have to send you elsewhere even if you didn't have a deposit down.

Don't worry about that. Call the front desk to let them know you are running late, and they'll hold the room for you.

First if they're totally filled up and have given away your room and if they're part of a big chain (CET, MGM, Boyd, etc), you'll be sent to a sister hotel for that night. They'll give you vouchers for the taxi back and forth to the hotel that you booked with, if you still wish to stay there. That doesn't include anything for the taxi drivers' tips.

I've heard of Wyncore substituting a night in the Trump Towers. Theoretically it's the same quality. No casino, I'd be very, very unhappy. Also heard they offered some type of compensation for the next day.

Unless it's a unique situation, don't count on getting upgraded for arriving very, very late.
