The last time I stayed at the Stratosphere hotel and casino was in 2009. There was nothing wrong about the place, but I guess you can say that I outgrew the property and started staying at nicer resorts on the strip. I did give them strong action back then, but their location is a little too far out there for me now. I get a call today from one of their new hosts who was probably looking though the old players files and stumbled across my name. They are offering me 3 nights free, limo to and from airport and a $500 promo chip offer. (Exact terms of promo chip not explained, but I think value is about $250). I am considering another trip to Las Vegas in a few months, but will probably stay either downtown with a group of friends or at a nicer property on the strip with my wife. Do I pass on the offer from the Stratosphere? Take the offer and give them some good action? Take the offer and chips and run for the hills never to return? I will probably not stay at the Stratosphere even if I book the room through them. I would feel a little sleazy to just stiff them. Is this wrong? Is this not savvy? Any thoughts and advice appreciated.
take the offer and use the promos even if you don't plan on staying/playing there at all. they don't care either way, really, they just want to get you in the door. chances are you'll blow through the promos and lose some of your own money there as well and that's what they're betting on.
I would take option #3 for sure. Even if you wanted to be conservative with it you could do the banker/player thing on baccarat and walk away with $475 cash minimum. The whole process of going there and everything is probably not more than an hour. Big deal. They're giving you a limo from the airport so just do it right after you land if you want. And since you may stay downtown you'll already be most of the way there. LOL sleazy? Casinos practically invented sleazy. I wouldn't give two shits about that especially since you don't care about your ratings there. Even if you did care you could just have a little fun with it and tell them you left because you got propositioned for an orgy by a group of hairy fat guys in speedos who came to your room. They probably won't hold it against you.
Book it. If you are only going to stop in during your trip to take advantage of the chip offer... tell them you are renting a car and do not need the limo. They really do not care. Get the room.... make use of it for an afternoon you know.... put the DND sign on the door and leave.
Take the chips and play $100 per hand in BJ. If you loose, oh well. You never know, you might catch a heater and win a few grand.
Book it. Tell them you want a room on a high floor. Use it for a welcome to Vegas booty call if you're with your wife or as a place to stash your bags and have a few drinks if you're with your friends. Then use the promo, play as much as you feel like at whatever your favorite game is, and then head to your original plans.
$125 on the Pass line, $125 on the Don't Pass, and a $5 midnight. Repeat. Done in about four minutes.
I also got this offer the other day from Strat. Suite, $500 FP, but no up front food credit. Thinking of taking them up on it during my April trip, but not entirely sure. What's better Star Suite, Romance Suite, or Grand Suite? Just how crappy is this place these days?
Ive stayed there once and usually visit the place everytime out in Vegas, there is nothing really bad about the place other than its on an island. If you want to disparage the place, that is fine, but let us know why you dont like it!
Other than the fact it's in the middle "of nowhere". I have no issues with the strat. I stayed there in October, and going back again thanks to a free room offer. For me I just like a clean place to crash. One of the guys on my last trip though did have problems with his A/C unit not working in the room but they were in an older room. Other than that we had no issues with rooms.
