Coming out in June and we always like to do one really nice dinner.

My husband is partial to Steakhouses though any Italian suggestions would be welcome as well.

    Thanks.

Carnevino would let you kill two birds with one stone.

Of the ones I've been to I can highly recommend Gordon Ramsay Steak (Paris), Cut (Palazzo) and Nine (Palms).

Believe it or not the steakhouse at Circus Circus is unreal! It is a diamond in the rough

I love fine dining in Vegas and for me Cut > Ramsay Steak >> SW >> Vic & Anthony's >> Craftsteak >>>>>> Carnevino

I've gone back to Carnevino a couple times because I just didn't feel like it was up there with Cut and I've come to the conclusion now that I just don't gel with the place for whatever reason.

That's not to say it's not a good restaurant, but for me it's not in the same class as Cut and Ramsay Steak.

Craftsteak at MGM and SW Steakhouse at Wynn are my current favorites. Though, I think Nevyn's Carnevino suggestion might work best for you if you want some Italian with your steak.

Prime at Bellagio is the best out of all of them IMO. Best dining experience of my life.

Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio is a can't miss. I go there every time I'm in Vegas. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I love it!

For an old-school non-chain non-casino steakhouse, I might suggest the Golden Steer on Sahara, just west of the Strip. Excellent! Very "Old Vegas" in ambiance!

For Italian I would suggest Trevi at Caesars or Bootlegger, just south of the south outlet mall. There's always Battista's too. :) :)

You beat me to it. Golden Steer should always be on the list.

Jean Georges at Aria.....absolutely amazing. From my experience, it blew SW Steakhouse out of the water in terms of steak vs. steak flavor wise. Honestly SW and JG are the only two I've had in Vegas so I'll be venturing my next trip out. Either craftsteak or gordon ramsey's

Edit** I take that back, I have dined at Prime one time. The service was incredible and the food was good, however I still stand by Jean Georges having a better steak - then again that judgement is by me only having steak 1 time at Prime.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. That article of the top 10 is really helpful. We have eaten at Prime once and loved it but want to try something new. Sounds like I need to check out the menus of a few of these.

    Golden Steer is often overlooked.

They're not associated with a major resort, nor do they have an absentee celebrity chef whose name is familiar to cable TV fans.

I've also been hearing about some great indie steak place waaayyyyy out northwest, but I can't think of the name. Been thinking of trying that one too.

    Ditto for Circus Circus Steakhouse.

Got rave reviews from someone who just tried Ruth's Chris. He's a regular visitor and said he'd tried them all.
