Just booked my flights for the end of May, but now looking for somewhere to stay, I stayed Downtown last year so looking at stopping on or around the Strip this time, I have been looking at Tuscany suites and they seem to get a good review on Expedia.

Just wondereing if anyone here had stopped there and what they thought of it.

    Thanks

Nice clean, well -maintained property, large rooms. I've picked-up a work associate of mine a couple times who always stays there. He loves the place.

Easy walk to Ellis Island and Terrible's and/or Hard Rock going the other way... not too far from the Strip either. Hard for me to imagine the property as a "destination" property, but to each his own.

I have stayed there and it has nice rooms and a clean small enjoyable casino. The distance from the strip is a Vegas 1 & 1/2 block walk but other than that I would recommend it for price and quality.

I stopped there to play blackjack on my way back to Bellagio from the National Atomic Testing Museum...yes, I'm a nerd...and it was GREAT! (Both the museum and the casino.)

I'd love to hear how the hotel is, but the casino is pleasant, very low limits and friendly dealers.

Hope you have a great stay!

    Santé,
    TL

I have gone and booked it today and looking forward to stopping there from what reviews I have read on Expedia and Tripadvisor.
The price was great and it is a short walk from the Strip but not paying Strip prices.

I think you did well! To add they had a lap pool with the exercise room beside the regular pool. Don't forget they have a resort fee.

Yeah Iam looking forward to staying there, I have stayed at the Desert Rose a couple of times, which is why I like to stay just off the strip where you do get to relax but at the same time you are minutes away from the madness.
I know about the resort fee but compared to some it's not too bad.

Tuscany put a whippin' on me the other night, so I declared I wouldn't go back. Bad karma for me there. But the blackjack dealer was good spirited as he took my money, hand by hand.

But seriously, the casino is a bit boring. Not a whole lot going on and there weren't many people inside it.

    Rooms are very nice.

The casino though has little vibe.

I enjoyed my week there, the rooms are just massive and very comfy, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The walk wasn't really that far onto the strip, I used to cut through the back of Ballys and walk through into Paris and onto the strip and vice versa on the way home.

Just something I thought I would add to my experience at the Tusany and that is that it was good and bad on the comp drinks depending who was serving you, Iam very much a low roller and will stick $5 or $10 in a a low machine and play about on it.
One day I was on a 1c slot playing 5 lines, waitress served me with a bottle of bud and never remarked about what I was betting, next day was playing on a 5c machine and a different waitress this time told me I had to be playing 10c a go to get served alcohol, so I complied even though I don't think I ever had a waitress say this to me before.

I then went to have a play on the bar machines at one of the casino bars, playing 25c on VP and was told by the woman behind the bar that I had to play max credits to get my draught beer comped, I change to max credits then went back to minimum when she went round the other side of the bar.

Happend more than once with different staff and the next time it happened I said I would pay $2.50 for the beer, and she started to tell how I would win more with max credits, at which point I said I can lose more a lot quicker as well. (as I had already gone through $20 playing.)

But if I went to the bar at night I had no probs with comp drink and was told by a barman that as long as I had credits and was playing the comp drink would keep coming, also in the lounge bar they have, I played VP at the bar there and was comped no probs, so I was just a bit confused about the consistancy of comping.

Despite what I said about the cosistancy of comped drinks ( I stayed Downtown last year so maybe got spoilt) it was a great place to stay and I would stay here again, I did read a few reports on travel sites about the walk and the homeless people knocking about, but I thought the walk was fine and I always felt safe whatever time of day or night I walked to and from the Strip.

The desk staff were very helpfull even with trivial stuff, I had a problem with the tv remote and I mentioned it to the desk one evening, I told them it could wait to tomorrow as there was no rush, but they got onto it straight away, I had a drink in the bar then went back to my room to get something before heading up to the Strip and the remote had been fixed/replaced.

    Stig,
Based upon what you've shared, I'm considering staying at Tuscany. I gambled there and have enjoyed the quiet, laid-back feeling on the casino.
