Okay the budget guy here again. Wife's first time there on vacation and have decided to leave late Friday like midnight instead of Saturday to save on higher room rates.

Was going to stay on strip but with rental car it doesn't matter so looking at best bets off strip now?

Rio, South Point, Orleans, Silverton, Palace Station, one of the Cannery??

Again looking at like up to $50 a night (not counting resort fees if any)

Also was considering Golden Nugget but this is wrong thread.

It depends on your wife's taste. Orleans is fairly reasonable and nicely appointed for the rate.

South point is also beloved like Orleans by many.

Rio is sweet if you are in Ipanema tower.

I've stayed at Orleans and South Point and either would fit the bill (although I think most Saturdays they would run over $50). Nice big and clean rooms and decent casinos for both.

I've been very happy with the Silverton. The casino is clean, the drink service is excellent, and the location is about as close to the rental car facility as you are going to get. The rooms are okay. The beds are great, but the bathrooms leave a little to be desired. You will get decent marketing offers for very little play, and all of the dining options are good....I'm particularly fond of the Sundance Grill. As long as you are not expecting a high end strip level property, I don't see how you could be disappointed with the Silverton.

South Points Sat rates start at $80, and now they have resort fees, so $94.

I'm only staying Sunday thru Thursday nights.... Was going to stay Friday and leave in morning but found flights out late Friday night so will do that to get more for my money.....

I've looked on Orbitz and Travelocity and can get either of those places for two of us for about 850-900 including flights.

I know Orleans and South Point both about same distance from strip where we will drive to and park then walk a lot. Was looking for place there but seems bit higher to get place worth staying at.

One advantage of the Orleans is that they have a free shuttle to the strip. So, if you don't feel like driving, or you do feel like drinking, you can leave the rental car at the hotel and still get down to the strip no problem. Orleans does also have a resort fee ($6/night) so you'll want to figure that in. If you like Asian foods, the Orleans is a very short drive from Spring Mountain, with lots of good Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese restaurants. South Point is closer to the airport.

Don't forget Ping Pang Pong which is right inside Gold Coast.
