I am staying at the Mirage April 2-7th. Going to Vegas for a conference.

I have stayed at the Flamingo the last three trips but since my work is paying for this trip, I'll be at the Mirage.

How does it compare to the Flamingo?

I've not stayed at the flamingo, but the mirage is nice. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm not sure there's a measurement that can describe how much better it is. It's better. A lot.

Agreed. It is not even in the same ballpark.

Since your a business traveler. The Flamingo room quality is like a Fairfield Inn where the Mirage room is like a full blown Marriot.

More than one working elevator is nice. Flamingo is pretty far behind remodeled Mirage.

Obviously, Mirage is a nicer place than Flamingo, but I don't quite get that Flamingo is a dump. The basic rooms suck. Anything GO is fairly nice. The check-in and lobby area is nice. The casino is a little more lively, but not as nice. I like the margaritaville section a lot. Mirage is a nicer property, but I think that Flamingo is far from a dump.

Huge step up. I was trying to be team Flamingo isn't that bad, but it's pretty much a dump, it's dirty, in disrepair in parts. Even with the GO rooms, unless it's bargin basement prices I won't be staying there again. I'd be excited to stay at Mirage!

Sorry to jump in the middle. Would you choose Harrahs over Flamingo then if you think it is that bad? I am trying to choose between then two.

Crit - how old are you? My personal opinion (mine...no flames) is that Flamingo is geared for a younger partying crowd while Harrahs is geared towards a more mature quieter crowd.

Odd but I rally haven't noticed the mature quieter crowd ay Harrah's. Pretty much the same at Flam as Harrah's when I've been there.
