So I have booked flights and booked in at Ballys?

I see that I can get Planet H. for $100 more. We are spending 4 nights. Although I booked before the resort fees, we will probably pay them as we want to use the fitness room twice and it will be cheaper to pay the resort fee for 4 nights than 2 guys using the fitness center twice!

Never stayed at either prop & comparing South Tower classic 2 queens (Bally's) vs Hollywood Hip 2 queens (Planet H).

We like the pool in the morning, room is a room, don't care about dining options (as we are using My Vegas credits), and don't mind casino hopping.

So what do I get more with P.H? Better pool scene, coffee in the room, MP3 docking station? Any of these or anything else?

I guess a few things..How old are you ? I ask that because Pho is a much younger vibe... chicks that dance in lingerie and deal in lingerie so if you are say 21-45 you may like that...

I like both... I am actuallly staying at Pho for the first time in a week... I usually stay at Harrahs because I can get to Mirage, and Bellagio, and Caesars and V/P in less than 10 minute walk

I'm 32, my brother is 28 - we are both married but like the party pits ....way more relaxed!

We enjoyed the party pit at the Flamingo (it happens to be by the doors to outside), it was a colder night so the dealers were covered up - but it was fun, relaxed and everyone having a good time. The party pit closed around 1:00 (I think) and the new pit boss came in = BUZZ KILL! Everything went extremely serious, no joking, no fun.

I've done the party pit at P.H. for a few hours last trip, but again we will casino hop.

Are the limits lower at one property over the other, black jack? (we also do some 3 card poker but we can always find $5 tables. And craps I imagine are the same limit between the 2?)

The indigo lounge and tequila bar seem cool at Bally's (never been to either but we can go to them regardless of where we stay) but there was a fun 'lounge area' in P.H. where there was a live band close to the party pit.

    Pho pool

The Planet Hollywood pool is substandard by most resort standards. It's been fine when we've used it because the weather has never been ultra hot, if the sun was blazing and the temps were 90+ degrees I could see some problems because there is little room near the water.

I wouldn't call it a morning sun pool either as it is fairly well shaded by the south end of the building itself. Overall though,we're sun lovers and like hanging by the pool, and we've always managed to do just fine.

    Enjoy!

The min at the Party Pit is no less than $15 and usually $25. If you actually played for a few hours I am surprised you are having to even pay for a room and not getting at least one night comped.

Save the $100 and put it toward drinks or gambling.

Ballys has plenty of available machines but the table games are usually packed.
With the connection to Paris and then PH right next door you will have plenty of options.

I have stayed at both, late thirties and take my now fiance' with me. We prefer Bally's. Here are some of the reasons, I have always been able to score a Jr. Suite with a $20 dolla holla. This gets me a coffee pot and extra room for the girl to get ready, she uses the make up table adjacent to the bathroom. The room is also big, a PH room is not big at all. We stay for 5 or 6 nights, so we like the extra room. The last trip we positioned the couch to view out over the north strip and that was our daily night cap.

I also like to walk to Ellis Island, its a breeze from Bally's. I too like the Tequila Bar and the Indigo Lounge. I have seen some nights when the Indigo was really busy.

I always make a trip to PH and probably always will. I like walking thru the party pit and we always hit the mall.

The pool at PH is lame, but they do have a more aggressive party theme with a DJ and bikini contests. Bally's does not have any contests and the DJ is like one you would have at a grad party or something, he is also only there on weeekend.

They are pretty different... I haven't even set foot in Bally's in years, nor have I had any desire or reason to, they have nothing to offer, it's outdated, and in some disrepair (or so I've heard). But PH is a great property, it's HUGE (which can be a plus or a minus... depending how you look at it), tons of shopping (they have an entire mall), dinning, gambling etc etc. Also the whole place inside and out was redone in the past few years. Literally, I've done two trips there recently and we didn't even have to leave really. (or pick up our car from the valet). Great location, so much to do. It's really a big step up. I'd say PH is a standard resort, where as Bally's is budget. I'd spend the extra $$$. That really isn't that much I'd say.

Agreed with above I ALWAYS go to PH on every trip, there is always something I need to do there.

For all the reasons I like Bally and have stayed there 20+ times, and didnt like PH having stayed there once I think the OP would like PH way more because of their ages and requirements. While I enjoy a party atmosphere as well as the next person, thumping bass music at 3 am killed me. I also like being able to find open bartop VP whenever I want. That's hard to do at PH. It is just way louder and way more crowded and totally based for a younger crowd. I'm late 40's and don't fit in those demographics, lol. But I'm glad I gave it a chance, once. I will also visit there every trip, I just won't stay there. But for a younger partying crowd, you can't beat PH!

    Have fun

They aren't listed on the website. You just have to ask at check in for an upgrade.

Cool thanks. Do you know if they come in 2 queens? - as I will be traveling with my brother?

Any extra amenities like coffee maker and coffee?

Are they all in the North Tower?

I have a South Tower Classic 2 queens - I imagine it is quite a step up (the jr. suite) and I am coming on the Thur - Monday of Memorial Weekend...think I have a chance at an upgrade if I specifically ask for it?

Does Bally's have a party pit?

If so, how does it compare to the one at the Flamingo and Planet Hollywood? (Those are the 2 I have been to).

They come in two queens and a coffee maker. I am a total rewards member and always on a COMP, so I assume that has something to do w the upgrade. I have only stayed in the north tower 3x now.

I am REALLY not a fan of Ballys casino. I like p-HO's. The pool area at Ballys seems to look better. Bally's IMHO has a better location (I like the mid strip). Depends on what ya really want.

Even though I love Bally's I walk to IP, Flamingo or PH to gamble. I have never had luck with the Casino. I kind of like it that way though, I dont have the temptation to "try my luck" when returning to my room after over-serving myself.

Been at Ballys last three trips

Fact that I've been going back and will be back again in May must say something. Plusses? Been able to get comped room (which is a pretty big plus to me) - low roller and feel like a big shot! Like Sully's bar a lot .. there's a white haired gent who's name escapes me who bartends there and seems to always remember me and my girl ... which makes you feel welcome. Its a pretty central location ... short walks to multiple other casinos (hell, don't even have to go outside to get to Paris). I like the Mexican place there (again name escapes me) - pretty good food for those nights when its 1-2AM and you realize you haven't eaten anything.

Only one negative comes immediately to mind ... wandered out to the pool and could not beleive they don't have a jacuzzi?!! Hell, some motels have a jacuzzi!

If you're philosophy is "room is a room" I'd go Bally's (although even if you book South, ask if they can give you North at check-in). Neither property has an amazing pool.

The main difference will be things like nicer TV, and separate shower/tub. Also, Ballys used to charge for using their safes, but the resort fee may now take care of that.
