Aria buffet with lots of photos

The Aria buffet re-opened recently so I tried eating lunch there last week. This is my opinion of the food along with a lot of photos.

The food doesn't look that different from the old buffet

 

I've eaten there twice now. Once for dinner pre-rennovation, once for breakfast post-rennovation.

Both meals were average at best. Dinner was absolutely nothing special and I can't even remember what I ate. The selection at breakfast was abysmal compared to what I had at the MGM Grand buffet the morning before. I won't be back.

 

Maybe it's because I was a raging drunk that day but besides the gluten free pizza I really enjoyed it!

 

I ate there once, shortly after Aria opened, and was pretty unimpressed. Most of the food was "fine" at best, many things had clearly been sitting out too long, and many things weren't clearly labeled. I also distinctly recall the place occasionally vibrating, which I was told was due to the proximity of the tram and wasn't likely to change any time soon. I'd be okay with it if it was cheaper, but for the prices they want, there are plenty of better options.

 

UKfanatic, I agree, I wondered why they bothered to close it down and renovate if they weren't going to improve it.

Phrantic, I do think being drunk helped in your enjoyment, note my comment at the beginning that if I had paid for the unlimited drinks during the buffet I might have liked the food better.

For less than half the price of Aria, the Palms lunch buffet was delicious.

 

Too bad the Indian's not up to snuff - I likewise am a fan of that type of ethnic food, and was hoping this buffet would feature a good take on it (since, as you say, that's supposed to be one of the signature stations).

I'm still planning on trying it out for myself the next time I'm over, just to see it for myself, even though pretty much all reviews have been as mediocre as yours.

 

hmmm, this will cause a rethink - I have two nights booked on a 'free buffet' offer (up to $33 per person I think), and the plan was to use it at Aria

we did initially fancy Bellagio but had a feeling there would be large queues there and hoped Aria would be quicker to get in (I'm not a queue kinda person!!)

Is Bellagio, the general consensus of being the best, free, "MGM-brand" buffet?

My opinion is YES!!

 

Definitely, the Bacchanal is a great buffet, however they have raised their prices now about 3 times and it's getting pricey. Also it helps to have a Diamond member with you so you don't have to wait in their long lines as it's very popular despite the price raises.

I am surprised to see long-handled pots full of food/soups sitting out on a self-service buffet. That is an accident just waiting to happen, especially for curious children.

 

Ate there for Brunch on a Sunday in January. Just like you said, price was good but food was just okay. For Sunday brunch they did have someone working the salad station for you and I really liked that. There was also Salmon that was great and Prime rib that was not.
I too thought it was weird that the salsas were no where near the mexican food.
Overall Aria buffet is a pass.

 

I ate there this past Wednesday and enjoyed it.
For starters, it's a very comfortable room to sit in. I had a table next to the pool and felt much more relaxed than at the Wynn or Bellagio.
The food selections were somewhat reminiscent of the Mirage, another of my faves.
I plan to go back, if just for the naan.
