Huge day for me-I was assigned a host

At the Riviera. LOL.

As sad as it is I was there twice last year and lost $805 total. I guess that place is in such bad shape that they consider my action worth of assigning someone to coax me back for some more abuse.

And since I'm a sucker I'll probably go back.

The only redeeming thing about the place is winning 2300 playing Aces+Eights across the street and Circus Circus.

I think I've had 3 hosts for the Riv so far - never met a single one of them, lol. You definitely don't need to be a High Roller to be given some of the "perks".

I'm one of the few people that like playing in that casino, I guess. I always do well there, for some reason. I admit I love kicking back in my chair with a vodka cranberry and playing Godzilla!

My inlaws just came back from the Big Game Party and said the machines were beyond tight. No one in their group of 9 won jacksquat while they were there.

 

I enjoy the place because of the history and the fact that the Queen Vic pub serves Blackthorn Cider on tap, which is my favorite beverage.

That being said I can't win a dime there. The machines are tight because the casino is in no mans land and is usually empty. They have to keep every cent that goes into em to stay in business.

I called my host today to find out he doesn't get in until 4pm, we'll see if I ever hear from him

 

I've got a Restaurant.com certificate for Queen Vic that I'll be using this time. I don't eat much in Vegas because I'm usually cramming in slot time but I'm making a point to change that this trip since I'll be there 6 days. I'm looking forward to it.

I like the size of the rooms, which makes me happy, and I really like how laid back and calm the casino is compared to the bigger ones. I love all the options at say MGM, but sometimes the noise and sheer size of the crowd makes me nuts.

LOL! When I was there in October, the casino was decently full. Of course, there was a slot tourney going on so that might have something to do with it. I'll be interested to see what it's like in March.

omanam11 you should try one of the 1 bedroom suites at Riviera. If you're there on a comp it's a $60 upcharge but the rooms in the Monte Carlo tower feature balconies with wonderful south strip views. they are also true suites with a separate bedroom, dining area, bar, and huge bathroom.
yes some of them have not been refurbished since they were built in 1975, but that adds to the charm
food at Queen Vic is very good and the waitress who works the front area is awesome.

 

I actually think I may do that, acoluzzi. I'm always on comps there but have never even bothered to ask for an upgrade suite. Truthfully, while I love the Riv, I hesitate to pay for it. :evillaugh I've never figured the rooms would be worth it.
