With my ongoing booking saga I am faced with another question:

Usually we do a Wednesday- Monday Vegas trip (Wednesday downtown, the rest on the strip).

This time I might have to go Monday to Saturday, and would stay Saturday downtown.

What am I missing by not being on the strip for the weekend? We like the party pits, any of these during the week?

I only go during the weekdays, and yes the party pits are hopping at all resorts that have them. They usually bring out the party pit girls and go-go dancers at 8 or later even during the week, both downtown and the strip as well. :nworthy:

What are you gonna miss? The huge crowds of people everywhere, the longer lines at the buffet and check-in, the longer wait from the CW. You're gonna love it!

I went Sunday-Thursday last month and had a great time. The party pits will still be there. I was at Paris gambling a bit before dining at Gordon Ramsay on a Monday and the girls came out at 8.

My huband and I like to relax at the Gossy Room where Matt Goss sings on Friday and Saturday nights at Caesar's. It's is something we miss if we go durring the week.

Staying on the strip or downtown does not make me stay in one spot. The only day I don't like is Mondays. Everything seems blacked out or closed on Mondays.

I tend to see the most party pits active starting around Thursday's....thats when the crowd starts to pick up for the weekend.

I dunno I like the weekdays because its alot cheaper...

Same here, much cheaper for me. I have actually never been in Vegas on a Saturday, or even a Friday night.

Saturday night downtown is great! Less crowded than the strip, but still plenty going on. There are often bands on all three stages, street performers, the hourly light shows til 1am... Plenty of the downtown properties have the party pits as well, typically with lower minimums and better rules than on the strip.

Amen to that... I pretty much go exclusively during the week for business reasons, but do occasionally fly in on a Sunday or extend my stay into a Friday and/or Saturday night. I've come to greatly prefer weekdays!

Weekdays are like weekends just smaller crowds, shorter lines and fewer ******y Californians in bedazzled Ed Hardy shirts. Sorry California but the desperate peacocking doesn't impress the rest of us. :)

I'd go Monday through Friday every time if I didn't work for a living. :(

Yeah, that the major drawback for me, burning more vacation time to go during the week. I prefer to spread my trip over a weekend. Lots of times show schedules will be dark on Mon or Tues as well.

The majority of my trips have been Sunday to Thursday or Friday.
I have been in LV over the weekend in the past and I am sorry but the DB's from California factor is just to high! Plus the price on the rooms is usually silly.
You really do not miss anything by going during the week versus the weekend IMHO.

Most if not all of the party pits will still be going. The big difference will be with the number of tables open. I was playing at the Paris and PH pits every day on my last trip, it was simply busier on the weekend, nothing else really changed.

The crowds are smaller which to me only ends up mattering later at night. At 3am a casino still might be packed on a Friday where it might end up being a little dead on a Tuesday. This isn't an issue for me as I still think it is possible to find a fun table, there are just fewer of them.

Oh and I get AMAZING drink service on weekdays. It seems like they may have the same number of CW but fewer people, so the drinks just keep flowing quicker. :)

I agree with choosing Saturday for downtown over Monday. I'm not sure how much different Monday and Wednesday would be though if you are used to Wednesday. I like the weekends downtown more than weekdays. The crowd is just very lively.

If only for five or fewer nights, we'd avoid weekends like the plague. However, going for a week or longer, they're unavoidable. And other than the hordes at the FSE, weekends hardly affect us. :D
